I need to replace the two helm chairs on the bridge. After 30 years the old ones have had it. I was going to rebuild them but sometimes it’s time to bite the bullet and replace. The cores are gone, the plastic/fiberglass is cracked, aluminum post and slides are shot. What do y’all recommend? I...
Here are a few pictures of Fair Well before and after her over two-year on the hard refit. Still have some of the brightwork to install and canvas curtains / awnings and lights etc. Replaced all windows to frameless carbon fiber frames that we built ourselves, installed all new portholes...
Don’t know how many of y’all use your block heater is this time of year. Here in this part of Texas where I am located I use mine not to keep the engines from freezing but to keep the moisture and humidity down. While working on re-plumbing the boat yesterday I touched the port Engine and...
OK you guys need help. I need pictures of the bottom of the sliding pilot house aluminum doors on a 1988 era motoryacht. We are in the process of putting Fair Well back together after a major refit. Have lost pictures of aluminum doors and need help on reassembly. I have contacted Sam's and...
I have all windows and port lights from Fair Well for sale. 1988 65' MY. All glass is in good shape and the slider windows still work but the fuzzy stuff will have to be replaced and glass we'll have to be rebeded. Port lights are in fair shape some yellowing on the large ones and all O-rings...
This is what I did with ours. More of a PITA then I thought it would be (what isn't on a boat) but I think its going to be worth it in the end
Before
Almost after (first coat of primer still wet) sorry could not get pic to rotate.
This is Prop Speed after almost 2 years. The boat was only run 25 hours in that time. To me it seems to work good if you run regularly at a high speed. If you run slow or not much at all its not worth the time or price IMA.
I had the same thing happen about two years ago. I decided to build my own and vent them into the engine room vent box. At least that way if the valve fails it well poop out side:) Can't seem to rotate the pic but you get the idea.
Been Following this thread and thought I would post a few pic's of Fair Well. She was a 65' 1988 MY extended to 78' (78'-11"). In the pic's you can see how the bottom tapers back up as it gets to the stern. The rudders have been extended about 2" to the back and bottom edge. Looking at rudders...
Why is the neutral not used on the 240 volt side of the shore power? Mine are cut. Where am I getting my neutral when connected to shore power? I know the 220/240 volt items don't need a neutral like AC units, water heater etc. The ground wire is connected to the shore power plug body but this...
Hear are a couple more suggestions. I agree with everyone on deck core. Look in bow under windless and around pulpit. This is also a problem area. Look hard for Termites they are on more boats then you think and they are good at hiding. I added some pic's of some of hiding places.
In A/C...
Is anyone else having problems viewing pictures??? I thought it was my laptop but now back home and can't view pic's on my office PC either. Been going on for at least 2 weeks. It opens but doesn't show pictures.
I have searched the forum and could not find a good for sure answer to how many CFM air flow fan or fans I would need. I did find this formula on Boat Diesel:
Multiply the max rpms by the cc displacement of the engine and divide by 1,000,000 and multiply by 34.3. That is how many cfm you need...
I'm like MikeP I like to see everything that being said hears some pic's of a little experiment I did. This is with the newer environmentally friendly stuff I bought. I circulated for 45 minutes in reverse flow. I have to say I was impressed with it no longer then I circulated it. The guy where...
More pic's of 36'c with black hull. I can get more Pic's of any of the boats if anyone want's. I am going to load a few more pic's of the black hull on another page. The site well only me load a max of three pic's.
Engines in boats:
The 41 ft. engines have been sold.
The 36 ft. with black hull engines have been sold but he is willing to leave them in the boat for $1000.00 ea. The only reason the guy hasn't come up with the money for them. would need to know pretty quick on this one. They look like Cats...
I am posting these for a friend that has just bought an old boat yard and he is cleaning house. All boats look like they well float and can be towed. These are all pre 1971 I think for none of them have the hull numbers on the stern. If anyone is interested or wants more pic's or info PM me.
Had this problem on all four heads. I rebuilt all of them and replaced all the hoses. I used standard SCS 40 PVC flex pipe and SCS 40 PVC fittings this eliminated all but four hose clamps. Hear are some pic's of one of the better pumps. Had one that was closed to 1/8" on discharge side. I even...
Started boat up today to make sure every thing ok for trip to haul boat next week. Wouldn't you know after about 20 min. running started smelling antifreeze:eek:! After looking for the source (was hopping for a bad overflow bottle or radiator cap) found a pretty good stream of water running down...
