Been retired since 2012 and have been in love with boating since I was ten. My uncle Walter and myself glassed a wooden 16 foot and loved every minute of it! Having so much family fun and cannot express how much boating helped keep me somewhat sane throughout the years!
I’m looking for some help on speed. I own a 1969 Hatteras 45 custom express. At some point the motors were swapped out for Detroit 8v92tta 735hp motors and capitol hy2500 marine gears. I was told they are 1.5.1 gears. The boat came with 29x ? Wheels on 2” shafts. I couldn’t get past 1900 rpm and 15 knots. Swapped out the props with a set of 3 blade nibral 26x28. Got 2400 rpm and only 17 knots. Any opinions?

Hello Les, my name is John White. I have a 2009 Hatteras 60 motor Yacht the system monitor is not working and I’m getting a lot of alarms. It was unplugged by the previous owner and I’m sure the internal battery has worn down and now it’s just black and the alarms go off all the time Gonna give you a call Monday to talk about this.
