Well, I'm sitting here in my salon, 20 feet in the air at Jarrett Bay. "Enjoying" the most beautiful weather of the summer. Helped Skip "Labrador" move his boat from the destroyed Town Creek to Beaufort Town Docks this morning. BTD looked none the worse for wear, and our marina in Morehead was completely unscathed and back in business Monday afternoon.
So I'm doing a bunch of "while we've got it out of the water and in the yard" stuff, been a year since Earl when we last had it out of the water. Got to talk with my diver about trying to get to the top of the stabilizer fins and more of the bow thruster and trim tabs; I was barnacle Bill yesterday. The bottom job and Seahawk CuKote bottom paint done by JB last winter is holding up great so far. One blade of the starboard prop had a weird little tear, less than an inch at the tip, hadn't felt any vibration at any speed. So we sent them both off to the shop to get spun and cleaned up. Put a dial on the shafts in a few spots, all OK , <.003, cutlass bearings look good.
Now just keep Katia out of here. Off to Marblehead this weekend for a wedding, keeping it nautical where I can.
