Randy certainly deserves credit as he has done an excellent job of making an internet forum home for himself and everyone who enjoys his brand of humor and story telling. Doug was nice enough to completely change his forum and allow a special Freebird section called "The Sandbox" just for Randy and his supporters and although it worked much better it was still not the same forum as PR (Pre-Randy).

Anyone who misses his brand of humor need only point their web browser to his new home and enjoy. As far as HOF moderators or members not being censored though, it may be tough to determine. If you were always supportive of him, you will be welcomed with open arms but if you ever posted anything that was not un full support of Freebird, you will probably get bashed or censored on his forum and why not? It's HIS forum now and he finally gets to make the rules and what he says GOES! More power to him! When I checked it out in it's early stages of development, there were several moderators/screen names that were all Randy! It was funny to watch him respond to different posts from his different screen names! It seemed even he couldn't keep who he was responding as straight! With all due respect that may just have been while he was getting it off the ground so it would look like more members were there, or maybe not who knows but I believe that he is having BIG fun in his very own sandbox and everyone there (and here) is happy.

Randy does have a variety of people on there and it seems no one takes it personal as it's all in good fun. Some Hatt owners and many from the boating community all over the world. I think even a few bayliner and searay owners. The great part is all are welcome. Even you could post there and not be afraid of being censored. What a concept. I believe there is some kind of name for that. First something???????????? Anyone in Miami studying for citizenship know this? If not I will ask my Cuban wife.

The point is he worked out a way to allow off color but reasonably tasteless humor to be on the site with out insulting anyone. Give him credit for that.

Yeah PORN that is a far far stretch Pascal stop trying to make trouble that's not nice. Anybody that really knows Randy knows he does not like that!

And Scott Pascal is a member and has posted there more then once. It is funny how so many peolpe bitched about him but are on his site. Some of them brave enough to post others are chicken and just LURK!!!!

Dan, I think that people bitched about him being on THIS site, not his. He can do whatever he wishes there and others can just watch or post, just like other internet forums. That doesn't make anyone brave or chicken, IMHO. Name-calling is one of the things that this forum frowns upon though.

hey, i've posted there a few times... i was kind challenged to so i plkayed along... it's a fun place but let's not forget that it's not a commercially hosted and supported site where anything goes. Big difference.
 
I think that is awesome for Randy. I know that I've been blatantly censored on this site. It was not vulgar, tasteless, or even referring to anybody here either; it was merely what one person thought "shouldn't be allowed".

But hey, it's something one puts up with to hang out with hatt people.
 
thirdhatt I am glad you are not my friend ha ha just kidding but you are always the one to say some thing negative when this topic is broght up but then you always wish randy well so I guess its ok.

I know it was people here bitching about him then you see them going to his site and lurking! So I just feel that is being two face so I am not making up a name just stating the FACTS as I see it. But It a free world so do as you want!

Dan, no problem here and I see your point but I know you remember all the craziness that often comes from good-natured jokes or names that get tossed around that's all. "Lurking" sounds like it's bad somehow, as if reading internet forums is not okay unless you actually post? Freebird himself admittedly "lurks" here regularly and CHOOSES not to post, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. I think many people here do (did) enjoy Freebird's witty and fun personality, although not necessarily on THIS forum. It is probably those people that you are referring to as "lurking" that are entertained by his banter, but like it better on his own site rather than others.

Sparky1, I see why you are called the sparky one because fuel is NOTHING without a SPARK! I am not saying anything negative here, and I DO always wish Randy well!

eventide I dont know how to look at site addresses and type them at the same time but you can find his site on google it is called forumly cahllenged boaters and he has this same thread on there to and has written a topic and invited thirdhatt to come on over ha ha.

Been there, done that! There's just not enough real boat substance for my particular preference, as entertaining as it may be. I am honored that the challenged one "officially" invited me over so that he can verbally abuse me directly, edit my posts etc. but I prefer it just like it is with him wondering when and if I lurk, or if I ever signed up or how many times I signed up or how many conversations he and I may have had or.....HA HA!

Hey Dan, no big deal! IT HAPPENS! Sparky isn't the only one by any means!LOL

That is funny thirdhatt sense you have complained about free bird before when some body in the sand bar talks about him since he left but it is funny you never complained while he was still posting on here may be I should just keep out of this but I am used to people talking behind my back instead of to my face which seems like you are doing here but are afraid to go some place where you would have to do it face to face. Sorry but that makes you a hypocrit in my book even though this is not about boats. You made negative comments here when he left you made negative comments when others were trying to help when he moved his boat and now you are doing it again just because some body mention him again. I have only been a member here for a year and a half but part of the reason I liked thsi place was reading about how some people enjoy using there boats and meeting others and having fun with other members like I hope to one day when I find a Hatteras like I want. I hope you get every thing fixed on your boat one day so you can have fun with it too.

Sparky1, is it time to let out your little secret yet? I guess not so we'll keep playing this third-person game until you or I or someone lets the cat (bird) out of the bag. There's no behind-the-back talking here, I (for one) know exactly who I am talking to. Please don't resort to the name-calling again because it just doesn't fit your (Sparky1) style, that should be reserved for your alter-EGO and other forum(s). If you spent more time working on your boat or getting your boat worked on than worrying about eveyone else I think you would really enjoy your Hatt(s) much more. Remember, talking about boating and traveling to visit boaters is NOT actually boating!LOL

As far as my boat goes, thank you for your concern. Luckily nothing is actually broken that needs to be fixed. I have gotten alot done on my boat lately, but I am wise enough to know that you NEVER get everything done that you want done. It is a never-ending process that I enjoy to the fullest, especially with the real feedback I get here on the HOF. I do have fun with it almost every single day of the year whether I am crusing, anchored, upgrading, rearranging, etc. As long as I am on board I am using it and having fun!

I hope your future involves more boating and less keyboards!LOL
 
I have been following this thread as others have. Not sure what Third Hatts last post means. looks like he thinks sparky1 is someone else.

I have met many members on this site, Boatsb, Wild Bill, Jsdream,shark2007, Freebird, sparky1 and talked to Krush over the phone and Guzman over the phone. There are a few other members that i met but cant remember their names,sorry. Also have a photo with Dr. Jims boat, he wasnt there, and met Tom Slane. Have had alot of fun with the members I met and learned a ton from them and everyone else here. I am not aware of any phantom members and will tell you that all the ones i met were real people except for boatsb who is other than human.
 
now i remember, i also met George G. in south Florida and also met 34hat aka Dan from CT.

sorry for forgetting you guys as you were the first 2 i met 4 years ago
