I've seen his bilges. I bet you could get some hands on experience trying to clean them. If you want I can arrange the training exercise.

Randy called me this evening to wish me a Happy Birthday.

Throughout all the hype and all the past rants, and in spite of taking a lot of grief, Randy is the kind of guy that would give his shirt off his back to anyone of us on the Forum in need. He has a heart of gold.

I've talked to randy before too. I never met him, but I could tell he was a really nice guy.

Internet forum posses are known to drive off the genuine people full of kindness or wisdom. The internet people have nothing better to do and the good people usually give in and depart (and don't even give the finger as they close the door behind them).

hmmm... are you saying that we're all "bad guys" in here ? all the "Regulars" i've met are all GREAT guys, incl. Randy. well... except for one... not a great guy but a greal Gal. :-)

It was a comment about internet forums in general. I've found it to be applicable to almost every forum out there.

True. Kinda miss the old 'Bird.

He'll be present for the HOF get together in Miami on 2/15. Stop by, it'll be fun.

I too have spent a great deal of time with the bird and can also state that the bilges in the 58 do need to be cleaned and Krush would be an ideal candidate.
 
OK I am going on a limb here but why cant he come back or is he just not wanting to. I dont ever see any body say any thing bad when randys name comes up except for one time some body did who shoudn't have and its funny how it comes up so much sense he has'nt been on hear in about a year now I think. I bet all teh new people wonder who he is or was. I haven't been on here all that long but can we vote on things like this or no?
 
oh, I forgot to mention that I also like a Nice Rack to tune.

Hey Sparky... I think we should have a poll here to get Randy back as a Moderatos Emptor! I think he's got his hands full with the knuckleheads next door tho LOL ws
 
You have to admit - Freebird adds some excitement & drama to the forum. When things get slow just mention the 'Bird and suddenly many have something to say.

I don't know Sparky, a vote probably won't happen. It's been almost a year since his last post. Maybe if Bird goes to Miami next month with hat-in-hand he'll get some special probationary dispensation from the powers that be.
 
This is a bit off topic but I think the big problem in forums is the difficulty in expressing subtle emotions. Humor is invariable misunderstood as insult unless it is so broad as to be crude. Friendly teasing is taken as personal criticism, etc. Email and forum postings are a pretty blunt instrument at times.

I think that for those with thin skin, they should practice using "special shut down" or "turn computer off" commands. You can not take any of this stuff personally, if you do, it'll eat you up.
Now get back to work! We'll call you if we need you! If you're tired kid, go sit in your car! If you're cold do a little work! Ive heard it all from old guys that were real pricks. I got the last laugh tho... they're all dead now! :-) ws

I just got a call from a fellow who knows Randy quite well with an "alert" that Freebird was yet again the topic of a possible 'turky roast' over here on HOF. Even though I used to do a lot of postings and donated a lot of my time to helping on the insurance threads I stopped active postings here because I thought Randy got a rough ride here on HOF so when he left I left as well. This is a good forum with lots of great members and it has a mountain of useful information. It was just too bad that a fellow like Randy with a heart as big as Texas wasn't embraced by the Moderators and that he didn't receive broader support from the members at large here on HOF.

So there is my 50 cents worth. I am sure it won't sit well with a lot of members on here but such is life.

I know, Doug is realy Freebird and he does this to liven things up....................
