Hmmm, a wise man one said:

“Ah, there's no future in the past…”

Wonder who that was.

Goldarn, I can't believe this. What does it take? Here's a clue: it came from someone who has posted on this thread!!!
I think it may have been the wise man part that threw everybody.:D

It's not about going back, it's about moving forward and leaving the past behind. You have no idea how much of that I'm trying to do right now, and it has nothing to do with this place. Now let's change the subject before I have another OprahBird moment.

I just read this thread. ( been tied up for a couple of days ) I really don't think it matters what name Randy wants to post under but I do agree that a member should only use one name. ( keeps things simple )
I do need to point out a flaw in Krush's thinking though. As all of us long time married men are well aware, that new ring is now permanently through your nose not on your finger. ( all kidding aside the Admiral is the best thing that ever happened to me ( 40 yrs now ) and I wish you and your new bride all the best )
Fred

I thought I'd share with everybody what/who it was that got me off on this subject so you'd know who to blame it on. :D

Karma: 1 How many boat sites do you check out

I know I check out 6, (not sure if this counts as one). I just got around to joining The Hull Truth and see Randy has over 6,000 posts there.
Also know "some people" have been banned from another site, but it was sure fun while it lasted (right sparky?)

Sheessh! There went twenty minutes. Randy, Freebird was the first real trouble maker on here. You kinda freaked everybody out and you were the reason the sandbar was created. Now, when someone like Stormchaser comes along, its like minor leauge stuff.. My, how this country has changed!
Freebird is banned and shall stay away! :)

You trouble maker....

Your friend,

Captned
MBMM

Thanks Ned, I love you too. :)

LOL, 58 posts regarding a screen name.

What can we say Bird - whatever you call yourself, you do attract attention.

Kind of like an auto accident, folks passing by just HAVE to look.

Jim's right!

Rubbernecking!!!!

Where's Noel?

We need a new poll. I can't do the tally.

We already have 6 pages in two days. What does that say! Mission accomplished!

Freebird's back, hmmmm, I also like Sparky1.

Now I have to get Capt K's image out of my mind!

I is here. What am I the poll meister now? sheesh!!!!! LOL Randy is welcome on our boat as well. Next though the lil ones have to meet though!!! And randy, as a reformed damn yankee to a southern gentleman.... My wee one will steal yer boys heart :P

Noel

I'm having flashbacks!!!

Going back to the Freebird screen name means getting the old posting privileges restored, and that sounds like ... a PARDON! No way, DookyBird! You're gettin' off too easy. This is one big vanity play and forgiveness all rolled into one sordid package. Somebody needs to knock you right off a swim platform to slosh some sense and perspective into you, you worthless spawn of a flatulent hackalacky goat!

There, let's see if there's any "Spark" left in ole Sparky1. The dreaded DookyBird would never take something like that lying down. Maybe it's not too late to get you banned!

You sure do have a funny way of inviting me for a ride on your new 55, but I accept. It would be rather nostalgic to go head to head (or glass to glass) with the great Jello'd one, but we'll have to borrow a real boat with a swim platform to fulfill this continuing fantasy of your's.

As for the rest of your drivel, I view that as a personal attack and demand it be zapped immediately. Otherwise, may the fleas of a thousand camels have your Haynes their way. Oh yeah, one other thing, you still have my Harley-Davidson sweatshirt in your possession, but I'll pick it up the next time you're out of town. Give my best to Darlene until I can give it to her myself and retrieve my shirt.
I think I'm beginning to grasp the real nature of the problem.

Just to be sure I'm reading this right.... The video screen says "Comin' Home" but the song is "Poison Whiskey"

Are you saying Freebird's coming home the forum? Or....

Are you saying Paul's a lush?

Not that there's anything wrong with that. :D

I don't know what the deal was with the Comin' Home thing on the screen, but your interpretation works pretty well all things considered. As for Paul being a lush, I wouldn't go as far as to say that.

Freebird probably would, but I wouldn't. :D

I still think Randy and Krush are related.... Kissing cus'ins maybe?

Just about the time Randy left, the kid suddenly shows up (released from Kindercare?) and takes over stirring stuff up........

Ah, he's being so kind under the misleading guise of the Sparky1 persona. Back when the U.S. Navy was made of wooden ships and iron men and Freebird was Freebird, I'd had just about enough of all his Birdy antics of old and decided that the first time I met him I was going to make an impact.

Well, I met him at the Columbus Day Regatta many moons ago, satisfied myself that he had neither wallet nor cell phone on him, and then knocked him out of his shoes off the swim platform of Carl's (the infamous "Bubbamigo) beautiful old 68 CPMY. Any bad bird that could soil his own nest so thoroughly deserved to get his feathers ruffled mystyle.

Ok, ok, so there was some liquid motivation working in me. My crew sabotaged me with untold amounts of shots in the span of about an hour since I kept them at bay for hours previously by saying "hey, I'm captain, I've got to get us down there safely." All bets were off when the hook was dropped. Whew! Hope I didn't shock Carl's family too badly!

The Birdy? He got what he deserved.

Mods, y'know, it was as interesting an era as any I've seen on the HOF...let the Bird fly once again. We can DDT his butt again if he pulls his old tricks. He responds well to physical force when the situation warrants.

P.S. Birdman, you'll be on the list when the mighty Old School starts voyaging. Soon, my boy. Getting my props dialed in and gonna fish a tourney in a couple of weeks. That should shake the bugs out finally.

Thanks for the AA speech there JB (JelloBoy for the new guys), it was very touching while at the same time demonstrating the effects of alcohol on long term memory loss.

First, you didn't knock me out of my shoes as I wasn't wearing any. Second, you gave me a rather friendly man hug, after which we both went into the water. Third, there is no such this as a 68CPMY, and the GuzCruzer was in fact a 67CPMY... the most famous one ever to grace a forum.

All this can be easily verified by looking back through the HOF history book for the CDR thread posted by Pascal at a time when such topics were off-topic. Good thing he was a moderator, otherwise he would have had to suffer a self-inflicted zapping.

Now that your story has been straightened, I will await your orders to board Old School, assuming you don't forget you invited me. Good thing I have this thread as proof. Speaking of proof, switch from the PGA to something in the 80's. It might help.

Bird, take two aspirins, sell two Hatts and call me in the morning.

Lord knows I needed the aspirins after the CDR! You're right that it was a 67CPMY -- how could I forget? More like, how could I remember?! Good time, though. Wow.

I know Carl approved of me bulldogging you off that transom, but he was still trying to be a polite host to you so couldn't make an outward show of it.

No doubt our first meeting and the CDR were a great time. Every once in a while I pull that old thread up just to relive it all over again in my mind. Maybe we'll do another together next year assuming you're not on probation.

I see the ole Bird won the Kentucky Derby tonight. Any relation?
