    very sad. sunken hatteras

Thought you all might like to see a few photos from the Palm Beach Daily News regarding the end of the 72 Hatteras TIME OUT. According to the newspaper, After a month of being battered ashore, it appears the eventual port side hull breach made it impossible to refloat her. With the approach...

    Stolen 80' Hatteras in Miami

Yea. And add that story to the 72' Hatteras that crashed into Palm Beach, it hasn't been a very good month for Hatteras's... By the way...the 72 Hatteras was still there today...as salvage crews hired by the town of Palm Beach were racing to remove the yacht before Hurricane Matthew gets close.

    very sad. sunken hatteras

An update to the story. A couple of weeks ago, local channel 25 reported the Hatteras on Palm Beach had been hauled away. (The reporter went to the wrong location). This morning, it was reported that a salvage crew hired by the town of Palm Beach was now racing to try and remove the boat...

UPDATE TO THE STORY... The 72' 1989 Hatteras TIME OUT was turned upright. Pumped out and towed away by a salvage company hired by the town of Palm Beach and Palm Beach County Tuesday. very sad. sunken hatteras

Just a quick update. The owner of the vessel has been given thru the end of the weekend to remove the vessel, or be subject to fines. The captain has been charged. That's all so far. (The city and county are hoping he can come up with the money to remove it so the taxpayer doesn't get stuck...

    Wax on, wax off.

Hey Sea Eric. Since the tomato farm on my condo patio (on a dare from my cousin) failed so miserably...I'm available for ANYTHING the boating world has to offer! The summer heat and humidity killed off my entire crop! With the planters, the dirt, the pots, and the fertilizer, my final crop...

    Keys Ingenuity

I am wayyy not a sailboat fan. However, I did spot what I thought was a cleaver swim platform solution for a sailboat. And for those who haven't seen the legendary AFRICAN QUEEN in a while...

    Keys Ingenuity

I was lucky enough to spend a few days in Key Largo last week. And like every trip, I always seem to run into amazing feats of genius along the waterfront. This trip was no exception. The first couple of pictures are of a distressed 53 Hatteras listing to port, while on the hook (for quite...

    53/58 YF Wanted

Hey Danny. You didn't say what part of the country you were in... Nonetheless, I spotted a 53 Yacht Fish with a for sale sign on it in Key Largo this week. The phone number posted was 786-222-6133. "Keys Condition". There was also a tired looking early 70s model 58 Yacht Fish in the same...

Palm Beach Boat Show March 17-20

I thought I would add the Boat Show Forecast. A nasty could front is expected to roll in with rain showers Saturday, and downright chilly temps by Monday! I already put my sweaters away!

Hi Y'all. SPRING MUST BE HERE! The clocks change this weekend. Most of the ice is already melted off of Lake Erie! And only one more week to wait before the annual Palm Beach International Boat Show. Thursday March 17-Sunday March 20th. I personally think the Palm Beach Show is the best of...

    Miami Show Recap

I looked up SILVER FAST. The Queen of this year's Miami Boat Show was built of Aluminum last year in Australia. 253ft. 33ft beam. She's billed as the fastest motor yacht of her kind using conventional diesel power in the world. 27 Knots top speed. She'll cruise 6000 miles at 20 Knots...

    Miami Show Recap

I never did get to the Virginia Key Site. I did think the "in water" location was superior to the Convention Center. Miami has many political challenges to get it running correctly. This was the first year for the Miami Marine Stadium site. I hope the Super Yacht show gave them an indication...

    Miami Show Recap

Just a couple more... The incredible Miami Skyline. A grand old lady from a previous era. ...And just in case you'd like to become the Benevolent Dictator of a Small Caribbean Island Nation... Check out the former Coast Guard Cutter that also had a "for sale" sign in the window this week in...

    Miami Show Recap

Here is an interesting comparison observation. Check out the 75' Hatteras 2000 Motor Yacht, BEACH BUM, as opposed to a 2015 Sea Ray 50ft Day Boat. Both were priced around $1 Million at the show. Which boat is a better all around value? I went aboard Beach Bum. It was super clean and had a...

    Miami Show Recap

The New Super Yacht Dock at the Port of Miami was THE Perfect Location! Check out this first year display, and especially look at SILVER FAST! ...And there's more to come...

    Miami Show Recap

3 Cheers for Miami! In spite of still being spread out at too many locations, The Miami International Boat Show was EXCELLENT! The Water Taxi Services between locations in near perfect weather was the cherry on top! The new Super Yacht display near the Turning Basin at the Port of Miami can...

Question re: Florida Keys "inside route"

While you're here z28jimi, I've dug out of my photo file, a 56 Ocean I spotted about a year ago. The window frames were painted white instead of black, and they added a weatherboard to part of the forward rail. I wasn't sure what make or model it was until she came close.

    Hatteras 58YF in distress

There is a boat still afloat in Ft. Lauderdale that's in worse shape than the Hatteras... I'm not sure, but I think she is a mid-late 1960s model 65' Grebe. She had a hardtop over the aft deck that isn't there anymore. What beautiful lines though. She was once a princess.
