    What is this relays function?

Hello- This relay is in the STBD engine room. Same relay in the PORT. The STBD relay just started chattering at idle after a days running, it stops if I bump the throttle up (less than 25 RPM). I do not see any indication on the gauges other than the STBD engine oil pressure is at its lowest...

Hello, What type of wood was used on the AFT deck doors and trim of the motoryachts and YF models? I am going to make a couple of new cabinets as well as a table to try and match the existing finish. Please ignore the arrow :) Thank you-

    NW rainy blues

Yes MVCaprice - we are TYC members and on the proper wait lists. I'm also on the Foreshore committee so I should see stuff up coming sooner than most. I've have considered the Hylebos waterway, Ole & Charlies is gone, from a fire I think after it was closed. I keep looking- Blessings...

    NW rainy blues

Man am I getting beaten down watching this rain never end. I keep telling myself these boats were built on the east coast and they can take it. I see beautiful boats in FL where the sun heat and rain have to take their toll finishes and upkeep. How do you all keep ahead of the elements??? This...

    Raw water flush problem, 8V71TI's

Hello, So I was planning to do a raw water flush, a variation of the procedure described by Genesis and had the following problems. I was trying to do a complete system flush vs. just isolating the HE and intercoolers, running the cleaning solution backwards to normal flow (this is on my...

Wrong oil added to DD 8V71TI's...

I discovered that Delo 400 40wt was inadvertently added to the mains and transmissions. So I changed the main engine oil and filters, and went back to Delo 100 40wt - so my question is what would the brain trust recommend to do with the transmissions? Are they as critical regarding oil as the...

New Salon and Galley side windows

Step 1, today. Got a labor quote here in Seattle and then ordered the three FWD salon windows (the center one started leaking this fall) and the LH/RH triangular salon side windows as well as the LH/RH galley slider windows. Ordered from Lookout Boat Window Frames after researching options...

    FWD berth bunk lamps

Again, thanks everyone. I confirmed my lamps are 120v, not 32v as I assumed. Just goes to show... I've obtained LED bulbs for several fixtures and will at least cool down the fixtures and improve my electrical loads. Not sure if I can cool down the Admiral. Thanks Seven - i have those...

    FWD berth bunk lamps

Hello- The Admiral wants to remove the original lamps (32v) because the bunks are a tight fit and you can hit your head on them, plus they're hot. I can't really argue this one even though I like the original look. Any suggested sources for updated lamps? LED preferably?

    air horn plumbing

Hi, the original compressor is an engine driven pump on the port engine which feeds a reservoir bottle on the interior bulkhead in the same engine room. I don't know the pressures but will look next time I am aboard. Sorry about the valve as well, I don't know where its located...it's always...

    Engine filter PN's?

Hello, Getting ready for my first engine service, I haven't found the right handwrite notes in my service/parts manuals and didn't see what I was looking for yet on the forum... I have a couple DD 8V71TI's in our 1976 58' YF. They have the stock canister's for engine oil, secondary fuel and...

    Show us your Helm

1976 58' YF, purchased as is. Everything with software needed an update but thankfully Simrad and others load updates to their webpages for free, so all the networked components now work well. Upper Helm, chart plotter (runs Coastal Explorer) is in the box on the RH side: Lower Helm:

76 58' YF holding tanks question

Hello there- After searching here for holding tank layout/plans/options/schematics I didn't find what I was looking for - how the two tanks (in my case) are plumbed together and how they should operate? I have the FWD center line tank, and a STBD tank OBD of the dinette. 1 pump out fitting on...

Hello- I am looking for a AFT deck wing door latch assembly. They are no longer available through our host so I am reaching out to the forum in case someone either has one or knows where one could be found. This is off of a 1976 58' YF. Sorry for the poor picture, it's all I have until I get...

    Fuel management question

Hi - I've a 58' Yachtfisherman with the three fuel tank arrangement and was wondering if there is a suggested or preferred fuel burn sequence to follow with all three full? Such as: engines fed from separate tanks at all times, -or- burn the Forward/Mid/Aft tank first, -or- etc, etc... Info...

    Gobius Tank Level indicators

Hi There. Has anyone installed the Gobius Tank Level indicators on their waste holding tanks? The product literature says that to work correctly, 4-8mm (1/8 - 3/16 inches) tank wall thicknesses are the limit. Any idea how thick the waste tanks walls are? Cheers, Matt 1976, 58' YF

    Bow flag staff

What was used originally on the bowsprit in 1976? I have 1 1/4" socket in the bowsprit and it looks like a 48" pole will clear the railings for our club burgee. I'd like to go with Mahogany but am not sure of the length or if Hatteras used round vs. streamlined staffs. Thanks-
