Lots of upgrades here, tried to keep with the original look.
Lawd have moicy...beautiful.

Still, the "coolest" looking lower helm, to me, was the ultra restored 1977 58 Hatteras Dionysus near Detroit, MI. I came within a hair of a contract on that beauty last April, but it was not to be. Just now looked for an old listing to see if I could find a Dionysus lower helm photo to post here but unsucessfull.

Sea Joy helm, almost hesitate to post it after that last one :-)
But here she is...

I am a day late but here is "SLOW AN EASY". She did not have helm chairs when we bought her. The box was made by C&M marine. Outstanding work at a great price.

Polarizer is just magnificent!!!!!! Not often you get all the gadgets and classy too!

I've got to order me some of those knobs. What a classy look.

Thought this post had run it corse. Glad you're keeping it alive. Nice job on the remodel.

Just in the process of re-doing Bella Sophia's FB helm. Not finished yet. Here is a couple of pics. Before and after. They are a little out of order.

1976 58' YF, purchased as is. Everything with software needed an update but thankfully Simrad and others load updates to their webpages for free, so all the networked components now work well.

Upper Helm, chart plotter (runs Coastal Explorer) is in the box on the RH side:

Best lower helm remodel I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

Okay, here's mine. Steering wheel was relocated and repositioned from its original vertical position to slightly angled which allows more room between the helm and the pedestal as is normally found on flybridge stations. It also has single lever Morse controls mounted side by side which makes it very handy. All the gauges in the original dash are the original, Hatteras marked gauges. Best thing is, they all still work.

I've been contemplating doing away with the box above the original dash, lowering the helm seats to their original position (they were placed on pedestals as part of the refit to allow short people to see over that custom dash addition) so the foot rest actually serves a purpose. I have room above for another enclosure to house the current electronics (plus my 10" Garmin chartplotter), and it wouldn't obstruct my view. The VHF, hailer, and stereo are mounted into overhead drop-downs that keep them out of sight when not in use.

Thanks for sharing Randy. I thought this post had died a quick death. I am glad it is being resurrected. Everyone should be proud of their helms.

Old Furono 72 mile radar but I'm keeping it. The computer is going to be replaced with my Ipad
