My 53MY had an engine driven compressor in the stbd. Engine room that runs the horn and wipers. Depending on the year of the boat I think they eliminated that compressor at some point. John

Hi, the original compressor is an engine driven pump on the port engine which feeds a reservoir bottle on the interior bulkhead in the same engine room. I don't know the pressures but will look next time I am aboard.

Sorry about the valve as well, I don't know where its located...it's always worked so I haven'tHatteras%2058_269.webp had to go find it!

On '68 flush decK 50' MY the solinoid is in the wood enclosure over the lower helm.

I don't know my pressure but it seems to drop off quickly after the Port motor is shit down. How long should the pressure last?

Seven,
The pressure drop is proportionate to the system leakage, the more leaks, the quicker the drop. Ideally, it shouldn't drop off at all unless you have leaks.

The maximum pressure should 120#s and the compressor with built air at 90#s and below. The governor, mounted on the compressor, can be adjusted if needed.

You might also want to drain the air tank a few times a year.

Eating lunch with Steve and Mike of Sams marine . I remember this same conversation.

COMPRESSOR WAS NOT INSTALLED ON THE SPORT FISH OR C MODLE ENGINES. TO GET ALL THE POWER THEY COULD GET. COMPRESSOR WAS A SEPORATE ITEM. SMALL COMPRESSORS WERE INSTALLED UNDER THE BROW. MY WERE FITTED WITH ENGINE COMPRESSOR....
