So when we getting more Pictures?
Dont' forget the engine room too![]()
Fair enough. All I've really got right now is a bunch of exterior shots from arriving here in town, but it was an overcast/ugly day.
As far as the engine room, I'm really enjoying cleaning the bilge! I've always owned 30-40yr old boats with Detroits, so cleaning the bilges meant sludge and funk that was seemingly endless. They always turned out better than when I started, but never what I would consider "clean". This boat has no sludge or oil buildup in the bilges! I just can't believe it. One good spraydown with degreaser and a pass with a brush and they are actually clean. I've done both sides of the engine room so far. The genny room is next.
Also, there is a combination of fluorescent lights (good, white light) and regular bulbs (not so bright, yellow light) placed sporadically. I want to brighten it up and I am considering changing the regular bulbs out for those fluorescent replacements to whiten/brighten it all up. I know those new screw-looking bulbs are supposed to last longer, but are they resistant to voltage surges/spikes that bulbs have to withstand on a boat? The sockets are either rated for 100w or 150w, I'll have to double-check but I would think that I could get some really bright white light out of those with the right new-style fluorescent bulbs. What do you guys think?
