G'day all,

For what it's worth, we're thinking of you all from over here in Australia. We get our share of weather here too and I hope you all get through it and with as little damage to your homes and boats too.

Hunker down and stay safe.....

Jack,
numb just looking at it....

I'm south of that down the river. I'm at Atlantis Yacht Club in Monmouth Beach. We do take a few transients but it's in a ways if you're just looking for a place for the night. Here's a shot of Atlantic Highlands Municipal Marina taken earlier today.

I dont recall breakwater being very high at Atlantic highlands, and with a full moon tide plus the surge, the marina is going to take a beating. Right now the tide station at Sandy hook is showing 8' above predicted tide, that s 12' above MLW!

Less than an hour till high tide there......

And the winds have really picked up over the last hour or so. We're at home about 30 miles NW from the beach and the wind is howling. It's gusting over 75mph here and supposed to be worse down there. My stomach is in knots.

I hate you guys are having to go through this, I really do. I'll be hoping and praying the damage is minimal, but above all that nobody is injured.

Hi All,

Jack, we're all so worried for you, especially after seeing those two images.

Given the way all this is unfolding any idea when you can safely get down to at least asses the situation?

I think I can safely say all of your friends and the whole HOF family is wishing you the best and sharing those knots with you.

After looking at some pictures, news clips and hearing from friends, I'm not complaining about our few tropical storms here in the Jax area. My prayers are with everyone, their families and their property and hope the effects are minimal.

Here is a live webcam I've been watching that is stationed in NY Harbor.

Lost power at the house about an hour ago. While I was outside stating the generator, a huge branch fell at the end of my driveway. When I got in the house the rest of the tree, a 70ft or so red oak, came crashing down. Thank God it missed the house. I'm signing off for now but will post when things settle down. Thanks to all for the kind words and prayers for all off us affected by this storm.

For those of you involved in the clean up; slow down and be careful. There will be more injuries incurred during the clean up rather than the storm. Spinal injury and extremity loss are not uncommon. Good Luck to everyone!

As of this morning the tide is over the dock at Piney Narrows, but all seems to be OK. We didn't experience the storm surge like the guys further North. What we have is just a higher tide from the South wind and the Moon cycle. We may have another higher than normal high tide this evening, but that should be it. We were VERY lucky.

I sure hope everyone else is doing OK.

GREAT to hear you came thru it ok... Let's hope all the others did to

The only NE member I've been in contact with is Dan aka 34Hatt. He lost power at 10PM last night but is ok. I've been watching video from Long Branch, NJ and wonder how Walter P came through as that's where his boat is. I hate calling people knowing there's a real good chance they're on battery power with no way to recharge.

From what I ve heard elsewhere there is a lot of damage to boats and marinas in the NY area incl up the Hudson
Many boats where lifted off the stands by the surge

It was over the docks at Baltimore Yacht club as well. Manager reports the boats fared well.

Interestingly is was over our docks at Port St Lucie as well. We are at Isle of Palms waiting for lower winds before continuing south.

I talked to Jack this afternoon. He had a lot of trees come down at his house and no power or internet. To both of our amazement and delight, a friend told Jack that Saltshaker is floating in it's slip and looks ok even after the 13 ft surge!!!
