You been into the gay goosses again? Reumatis medicine?

Oops!... sort messed up the sunrise/sunset thing huh?

Doesn't matter, my route suggestion is better... so there.

LOL Randy, now you're starting to sound like that frenchman over in the tampa/abacos thread.

Doc, which ever way you go, enjoy, and safe cruising. Let us know if you stop off in Tarpon Springs.

Ça ne fait rien, ma suggestion itinéraire est mieux ... donc il.

If y'all are as funny in person as you are on this thread I can hardly wait to see you...mon Francis cette tres mauvais. I just checked out price of marinas in appalachicola $650 /month...it's only $350 at sea brook marina in new Orleans where docs holiday is berthed now. I guess it's going to get more expensive the closer I get to the east coast

That is a Safe Bet :p

Now if you stop in NYC, Newport or Nantucket you can spend more than that in a Week!

Ill be watching to see when you get up to the Northeast. There are plenty of us around N.Y, Ct and R.I to help you out.
Don't know about your timing but we a planing a get together in Block Island R.I beginning of August. Plenty of funny characters there even without Randy and Scott we only let them come every now and then we have a Image to uphold

Thanks for all the invites. We hope to be in Eastport Maine by the end of July, if weather and skill (or lack of!) allow. Will keep y,all posted on our progress. Thanks for the support

PS ...for those of you who want a chuckle at a neophyte learning to cruise you can follow us by googling docs holiday coming home .or go to www.cruisingwithdoc.blogspot.com it might bring back some fond memories of when you all started cruising.

It's "goyim", actually.

Any boat owner is welcome on this forum- it isn't confined to Hatteras yacht owners. Or former owners.

If you are coming through Annapolis, the standard offer is dinner courtesy of me; let me know when you are coming through and I will take y'all out and feed you. Even not during the tourist season, we still have a few decent places to eat around here.

Spellcheck on the android is a pita

Thanks for the invite Jim, and we will be taking pictures of our haps and mishaps! Will be back crusing in a week from New Orleans to as far as we can get in 14 days of stopping to "smell the roses"

The 501 Chris is a great boat. If you travel at Hull speed 8.8 knts. If you leave Carrabelle or Apalach at 12.00 and head for St. Pete you will arrive about 10:00 in the morning enough time for fog to disapate and , of course, see all the crab pots. You can stop at Gulfport, Fl. The City Marina has a wonderful transient dock if you stay 3 days it .75 a ft.

Gulf Port is a great little town, no condos and a quaint downtown. It really should be called South St. Pete.

Well, if you find yourself on my section of the Tenna Sea, I'll buy you dinner too. I mean that's the least I could do for somebody who gets that lost en route to Maine.

North through the river to the lakes. Out the st Lawrence and down to Maine.

"Out the st Lawrence and down to Maine."

That's a fantastic trip. Crewed for a buddy on his 42LRC for a good chunk of that. Having done most of the Gulf/US route, (and loved it), the Canadian part of that trip blows it away.

Now going up the rivers from Texas, that I'm not so in on.

Yep, he did say he wanted scenery. Then again, he'd still have to make a wrong turn entering the Tenna Sea. With that, my offer still stands.

We did most of that route when we went from Mobile, AL to New York City in December to June. It would be worthwhile to read what we liked and didn't in our blog as you follow our wake. It starts with Mobile here.

Things not to be missed:
Great Anchorage and uninhabited beach. Anchor at the far east end of "Big Lagoon" before G7 just before entering Pensacola Bay. Dinghy to beach.

Marina Jacks Marina in Sarasota.

Marathon and Key West

Anchoring in Newfound Harbor between Key West & Marathon. Scuba dive Looe Key if you are a diver (the dive boat can pick you up).

Anchoring in Cape Lookout near Beaufort, NC

Consider going up the Potomac from the Chesapeake to spend a week in WDC

New York City - Stay at Liberty Landing Marina because it's the only one without constant rolling from ferry wakes. Take the $5 ferry to NYC easily.

And a hundred other places.

Have fun!

Doug
