Who's up for a dinner on Saturday, the 20th? George is in the area, and I think that's all the excuse we need. It seems either Alameda or the Delta is easy for us geographically. I will drive to either location.

This could be a warm-up for a raftup in early October.

One suggestion might be meet for dinner at the Pittsburg Yacht Club. Opinions?
Arrangements?

DAN

The Pittsburg Yacht club calendar shows a "Member Rental" on Saturday, 9/20/08. People could meet there but would have to walk into Oldtown for dinner. There are some great restaurants there.
Will

Thanks for checking, Will. How does you schedule look for Saturday? I'd like to meet some Delta folks as well!

DAN

I could do an something Saturday during the day or early supper, but have a reunion in Lafayette that evening. Location no issue for me, I will be coming from Marin, where I am staying, FYI. Just got into town tonight.

George

Well my mom in law is in the hospital so my weekend are taken up for a bit.
hopefully this will not be serious. I will be watching this thread for progress i would still love to raft up with fellow Hatt owners in oct so we will see!
Jim

I can't make it this Saturday.
Will

George,

If GJH wants to get on the water, it seems unlikely. Hope all are looking ahead and that some sort of get together is possible in the first or second week of October.

Otherwise, I will be glad to meet George for dinner or a cocktail if he has time. Will post location if that comes about.

PM sent--give me a call when you can...

Folks,

Sorry I have fallen a bit short on this get together information. I'm still trying to reach the owner of the restaurant at Tower Park and haven't had much luck.

If someone wants to try a different venue I'll understand.

It might also be worthwhile to create an email list for all of us interested in participating vs. monitoring the forum. I check it only occasionally but am on email virtually all day, everyday. If you all want to email me I'll see if I can set up an alias. iamgreek@comcast.net

Tim

We're available for a Tower Park venture on the 11th of October. Boat is currently at Grindstone Joe's, about a mile away. After that we're at Tinsley for one night with the Sausalito Yacht Club Group and then leaving on that Sunday and returning to Sausalito for the winter.

So let me know what's up. E-mail address: msfoote@aol.com. Phone 415-350-6409.

Tim, you talked about setting something up at Tower Park.
I can set something up in the Bay Area (Encinal Yacht Club...on the Oakland Estuary).

I figure that once set, them that can make it, will; and them that can't --- will cry about it later.

Waiting for "consnesus" is a non-starter. It's like askin "Where do you want to go for lunch?" to 6 co-workers. You get 6 answers, and no consensus.

So, call me when you get this, and we'll flip a coin to see who organizes. (Helpers are welcome, just send a tele with an email.)

CHanson@HansonLawFirm.com

Let's just "do it."
When Tim and I chat, we'll set a date, and pick a place.
Oh, and then we'll let ya'll know when and where.

(Ah, Tim; is it OK that I just appointed you to a committee of 2?)

Sounds good. I just sent you and Scott an email with some suggestions.

Hello all,
I sm sorry to side track the thread but have a question. I am in San Diego and thinking of moving up from my 39. There is a 1977 46 Hatteras C listed on YW that is in Emeryville. The boat looks like it was refit and is painted a brighter white than original. There is no name visible in the pics. I am curious if any of you know the boat and have seen her close enough to have an opinion.
Sorry again for the digression. Any help would be appreciated.
Paul

Tim and Chris: Just set something up and "they will come". I spoke to George (GJH on the forum) last weekend when he passed through town, and he said he does periodically return to the area.

You seaworthy types should take the lead for a rendezvous--I'll be the first to drive over!

Nor'easter: The yachtworld ad listed the name as "Timeless Lady", but the USCG docs said the owner is now the broker. The older listing shows a PO who is living in Pittsburg, so perhaps someone there may know "Courtney" and the boat. Also, you might want to PM Nick (oldboat) who is good at evaluating for-sale boats. ( I am nearby, but don't know nearly as much as he does.)

Re: SF Bay Hatts - WE HAVE A PLAN

Ok gang, here's the deal.

I have reserved 10 slips at the Tower Park Marina for arrival on October 10 departing on the 12th for $10/night. When you arrive, you can go to the main desk and register your boat and pay your fee. The reservation will be under my name: Tim Methenitis You can arrive anytime Friday or Saturday.

For those of you that are familiar with the marina, we'll have the entire inside dock that is parallel to the waterway in front of the restaurant. It can be a bit tricky getting inside if the wind is up and the current is running, but I'm sure all of you are great skippers and won't have a problem. Hint: arrive at slack tide.

If you go to www.towerparkresort.com you will find a link on their web page labeled Marina Info. Clicking on that will bring up a resort map. Click on the link for the printable version. You'll notice at the top of the page a logo for West Coast Canvas, to the left of that Tower Park Boat Sales and then Sunset Bar and Grill. There is an arrow pointing towards the store. That area in the back along the line where the store is referenced is where we will tie up, stern to.

There is a men’s and women’s restroom and showers just up the ramp from where we will dock.

Power is generally lousy there. single 30 amp circuits.

I'll plan on getting up there late Friday afternoon for those that want to come in that day and help guide you in.

I still don't have any food or entertainment arrangements but I figure a bunch of Hatteras owners can find something to do and as I mentioned earlier, we can eat off the menu if the caterer lady never calls me back.

So here is the synopsis:

SF Bay Area Hatteras Owners Rendezvous
Friday/Saturday/Sunday - October 10, 11, 12th, 2008
Tower Park Resort

$10/boat/night - self register upon arrival

Monitor VHF channel 78 - call name: Champagne Jam

Organizers name: Tim Methenitis and Chris
Contact: iamgreek@comcast.net, cell: 408-497-4763
CHanson@HansonLawFirm.com

Let me know if you have any questions.

Tim,

I'll plan on being over on Saturday afternoon around 4PM if all goes well. A bit tricky going on the inside at Tower.

Scott

Dan,
Thanks. I looked again and saw the name in the printed listing. I spoke to the broker/owner. Seems motivated.
I am looking into performance info....cruise/max/fuel burn etc. He didn't have a good handle on it and said the boat is barely run right now. Mains have about 75 hrs since MOH.
Paul

Hello Well fineliy enough owners on the bay. Me My 53 is at coyoty point marina just about 10 miles from San Francisco.

So, this idea got dropped faster than the old girlfiend of a high school teenage boy looking at the new girl in town.

That's a shame.

I want to revive it. (Yea, I know, I was the one that started it in the first place and flaked out... No more! No more I say!)

Interest?

SF Bay - not Delta...

I'm still here in Pittsburg, CA. The Bay, delta or Monterey are OK with me.
Will

I want to keep this at the top of the forum ...

Anyone else?
