You know, another option might be a cruise in somewhere.

I would be willing to take the lead at checking to see if Tower Park had any available weekends where we could all cruise in. I've done that before as part of the yachtclub and the gal that runs the facility there does a great job.

We could make arrangements for a dinner on Saturday night, with wine tasting in the afternoon if that sounded good to everyone.

Why didnt' I think of the Pittsburg Yacht Club? Lots of Dock space and a great club facility, all within walking distance of town with good restaurants. I think the last weekend in September and the second weekend in October may be available.

FooteLoose, 44 Tri-Cabin, is on the way to Grindstone Joe's (near Tower Park) on the 29th of August. Will be there for a couple of months. Your idea of a gathering on the delta sounds great with perhaps another one at Angel Island later in the year or early 2009. Scott and Ginger Foote

Would an interloper from back east be welcome? I am going to be back in the Bay Area the weekend of 9/20 for a high school reunion Saturday night. I'll also be out there working on a project some time in October, though most of the month will be spent moving the boat back south. We loved cruising the Delta in the fall.

1981 56MY "Incentive"
currently moored in Westport Harbor, MA.

So, something in the Delta 2nd week of October (does Benicia count as "Delta" - I heard its downtown was also AbFab) and then something else in SF Bay (Angel Island or Corinthian YC, or Encinal YC - in "Winter" ... when there is no afternoon wind and more space at the YCs?)

Hey George,

I see nobody yet responded, but in my opinion you are always welcome! I don't own a MY, and my Conv isn't running right now, but at a minimum I would enjoy buying a fellow Hatt owner dinner! Let us know your plans as you get closer.

DAN

Thanks Dan. I'm still a member of Club Nautique in Alameda (Ballena Bay Marina) and Sausalito. I'm thinking of renting one of their Mainships and taking a cruise up for old time's sake, and would need crew. Otherwise, I'll be driving, and based in Marin.

There used to be a nice classic MY docked on the fairway in Ballena Bay, as well as what looked to be a 60C enclosed bridge. Not sure if they are still there or anyone here knows who owns or owned them.

The "Classic" 53 is for sale and moved to Emeryville. The "beautiful" 48 in its place is mine. There are two other 53's across the fairway from me, and a third somewhere else in the Marina, but I don't recall where...

Well i've decided to head to Mandiville for labor day, if anyone wants to raft up you are most wellcome. We will arive on sat. about noon i think.
hope to see ya there!!

EXCELLENT! (And thatnks for volunteering to make arrangements.)
2nd or 3rd weekend of October?

Everyone "on board" with that as they say?

I am certainly up for this.

Bumping to the top.

Email also sent to Rick (Hatrick) of San Mateo...

Hey folks, just got back from a cruise to Alaska, on a cruise ship, that is. I'll check into it and see what I can find out for pricing/scheduling.

Tim

Tim, are you going to keep your Hatt?

DAN

There are a LOT of Hatts all about in Marin and the E Bay, who are not, I expect (although I don't know why) participants in this Forum. We ought to go walking the docks and invite all of 'em - once we figure out when and where... Imagine 25 0r 30 Hatts descending on Tower Park.

You are so right! If that turns out the be the thing to do, I will personally do from Pt San Pablo south to the Bay Bridge.

Buccaneer, I don't know why our folks aren't more social--maybe we need to fly Yachtsmanbill and Freebird out as a main attraction. But let's do push ahead with at least *one* gathering.

George (GJH), sill coming out on the 20th?

DAN

Where are we as far as a "cruise-in" in October??? We are very near Tower Park and would be interested in a gathering.

Dan, yes I am. Fly out tomorrow night and return to RI Monday. Saturday day is still pretty open.

Had a fun trip out to Nantucket the last few days. Rhode Island Sound & Buzzard's Bay did their best imitation of the Pacific on a windy summer day yesterday, and then were dead flat today. One of those many cruises where you say to yourself about 100 times "Man I'm glad I have a Hatteras!"
