I have two problems should anyone care to advise me on.
While cleaning the bilge I apparently noticed the Judson Synchronizer attached to the flywheel of one engine was loose. In an effort to tighten it it came off the place where it was screwed into the engine. This deal has a red rubber cap on the top of it and a green wire attached to the outside which could be a ground. It has two red wires going into the top of it covered by this red rubber cap. These wires originate from a wiring harness. This deal I broke off had a gear on a pin in it which fell out and the remaining piece still attached to the engine has a gear in it too. Apparently when this deal was in place these worked together and sent a response to the head unit which does not work now nor either of my upper and lower station tachometers. Real bitch.
Is this broken piece the problem. Maybe if I connect the two red wires attached to the top of the broken piece this will make the tacks work?
advise please.
Other problem is sanitation hoses need replaced from Y valve in rear of the hull to the holding tank up forward.
I can turn this Y valve off to send waste to holding tank or open it to direct discharge if and when legal. The boat manual indicates there is another Y valve up front near the holding tank, however I do not see it.
Should there be one? Seems unnecessary having the other Y valve. When closed to thru hull waste goes into tank. Open thru hull valve waste goes OB and could go to holding tank. If valve open to thru hull would waste in the holding tank go OB too?
Questions about missing Y valve assistance please.
I am going off-shore and requesting explanation. Would prefer not to sink the boat.
