Not disputing your claim, but he's never mentioned that figure to me. As I stated earlier, there is no doubt $20K would buy the boat. As I also said, all offers will be considered.

I think somebody on this forum went and looked at that boat and said it was pretty much turn key, recent paint, recent overhaul on engines, and overall in really good shape. The ask 29k and the boat is ready to drive away.

Yes I put a deposit on it should close next week. It's in New York and I plan on bringing her up to Massachusetts the following week. Engines and transmissions were rebuilt 450 hours ago. She has had the same owner since 1988 and he regularly ran her 100 miles out.

Congrats Seapig. I had a boat named Kaipua. That translates to either Seapig, or Seaflower. Depending on the crew and passengers.

Post some photos once you make her yours.

Not sure what your point is, but a great price on an orange doesn't mean much if you're after an apple.

There is no doubt that fully operational boats can be purchased for what the salvage/market value of this boat is. I wouldn't think most buyers looking specifically for a 48YF would have an interest in a 45C. Now if they're just looking for the best boat they can find for X amount of money, that's a different story.

Sounds like a great deal. Hope she works well for you.

We too hope this works out well for you. We had an opportunity to spend some time with Starman on this boat several years ago and were extremely impressed with the restoration work they had done. Sad, very sad, that the project got dropped as it did.

Thanks for the kind words, but I think you may have gotten confused. Boss Lady is still available.

Is your boat at Tidewater Yacht?

I believe I covered that on the other thread. They need to clean the thing up and take photos of the positive aspects of the boat.

I dont think it will matter. But then again there is a sucker born every minute.

Where are all the parts that you listed? I don't see any of them in the craiglist ad.

Duh, isn't that what I've said at least twice now? :)

I have totally restored several planes, and 3 boats. Not for resale for profit, but for the sheer fun and experience of doing so. I did make some money, but my labor wash basically a give away. If my hands were not so full right now, that looks to be a fantastic father son project, or a couple of buddy's wanting to spend time together.

I have seen some bug ridden Egg Harbors, and 2 Mathews that had holes in them. They were headed for the fire pit. Thank goodness someone saw beauty and not ashes and did full restorations. To see them now makes you understand good craftsmanship, and they are still cruising to this day.

I just hope someone can see the beauty of one of these maintained Hatteras yachts, and see that she could be brought back, made to look just as good if not better. I have taken worse and had people go nuts over the finished product. It would be a shame to cut her up.

My two cents,
Have a blessed week,
Tim
