Interesting video.

I believe I would take the side of the bridge tender.

The bridge was closed before the boat got there. Seems like the boater could have at least tried to avoid the allision.

The bridge definitely was closing before the sailboat tried to go. The sailboat captain surged trying to beat it and you will not win. He was responsible for his boat and passengers and if the margin was too close, stand down and ask for another opening. Even the second sailboat was trying to follow the first.

I was 'trying' to be nice to the captain...... As I've been told many times that I'm anti sailboats....

He didn't have any trouble at all on his second attempt.
Eric

Can you hear the sailboat Captian's theme music in the background?????

Doop De Doop De Doop...... Folks are dumb, where I come frumb........ Doop De Doop De Doop.....

Some people REALLY shouldn't be allowed on the water........

It seems they have removed the video, cannot view it.

Don't feel Bad about it Charlie Your not alone :D

Nope, that's not going to happen. All the error was on the side of the sailboat driver, unless he has audio to show that the bridge tender told him on the radio to come on through. And you know damn well he didn't..... the boat driver was just trying to cowboy it.

Sailboat rigs can take a lot of abuse in their intended use. This, however, is not the intended use. I'll bet his insurance company drops him, too.... after they see the video. It's not like he's got any kind of explanation for it.

It looks like the sailboat right behind him was going for it too. Any people think sailors are all that.

To be fair, they were operating under power, which to most whistlepi$$ers is a satanic ritual. You can't expect any more out of them than you would if you stuck a powerboater who doesn't know how to sail in a blowboat.

This guy has all his excrement in a single container:

IMHO That guy's gonads are the same size as his counter weights.

It took me a few seconds to realize what you meant.... THAT WAS FUNNY

Guess he won't have to wait for the bridge on the way back will he?

The tilt the boat to get under the bridge was, at one time, a fairly commonplace practice on the Okeechobee w/w. Several of the marinas had barrels they used to heel sailboats over to get under that lower bridge.
