This guy will make an appearance, not by boat though.

So is it you as solo when you coming over and are you staying for the dinner Saturday Nick needs to do the final # beginning of next week so let us know?

Uhm....dunno. Will work out with Nick. I have no boat, no plans, and thus no clue!

Hey Krush!

Glad you can come. I'll call you tomorrow to give you an idea how to get to Block on Sat Aug 4.

Nick

Well, if krushter is coming, maybe I need to come too. He's going to need an interpreter! :p

Normally I would agree. However, I've been stuck up north for almost 6months! And a few years ago I did a stint up north for a few months in taxachuesetts, and a few years before in joooowwwwseyyyyy.

Bruce Glory Be had the 41 now a 52.

Right-O. I had list of handles from NE Rendezvous several years ago and saw Bruce's HOF handle was JohnGalt. Only recently read "Atlas Shrugged",. well, about 1/3 of it anyway-I stopped after I got overly pissed how much of true today. Thought that was awesome handle and being he's coordinating allot this Rendezvous behind the scenes why not use the line.

I have 2 redneck college roommates coming. Rob is truly a good 'ole boy - one to rival even Freebird. You guys are going to love his Elvis impersonation, he was a somewhat regular performer on Beale St when he lived in Memphis. Krush, I don't really know ya, but if you want to join our redneck brigade out there we are leaving 6:30am from Port Washington, NY Thursday morning. You'll have to make sleeping arrangements as all bunks accounted for, but welcome for the 8 hour ride up Long Island sound and beyond. PM me and I'll give you particulars if interested.

Boy, for such a cool destination this sure is a snoozy thread. I'm off the grid in about 6 hours, so to everyone attending - fair seas and a head wind (a following wind blows the diesel in, we're not sailors after all). My 2-bits - watch out for the early morning fog between montauk and block, it usually burns off by 11.

We hit Block after last year's NE Rendevous at Mystic. I proposed to my wife at the top of South East Lighthouse (below) 8 years ago. Hot as hell up there!

Hey Scott never knew about the proposal

Don't worry I will be there Saturday by 11 fog or no fog that's what radar is for :D

The box of parts are on the boat it is up to you now to remember to get it.
Maybe get it before cocktails !

Block Island should be a ton of fun, wish we could make it.

For those that like clams, look into getting a clam license, and go dig a few, hard work but fun, and very rewarding at the dinner table. Be sure to try out one of those great greasy donuts at Paynes, they are hot, tasty and awesum. Also be sure to check out Bruce's (Glory Be) island mobile, it's a riot.

The dock hands at Paynes are awesum guys and very helpful.

I hope everyone has a great time, and take lots of pictures so we can all see them.

Oh!, also breakfast in old harbor on the porch over Finns (I forgot the name of the restaurant), is a great place to start the day.

I'll be coming by boat....what are transient slip fees?

That'll depend on whether or not you deflate it. :)

That'll make a dandy air mattress though.

Have a nice trip everyone!

Krush don't forget the blow up pillow for your blow up boat!

Come on out already fellas - the bar serves everything less mojitos. Made record time out here today, hope you guys have as nice a day as we did on the water. A little bit of paradise awaits!

Well, I survived, had a great time and met some nice people all at the same time. Elvis made an appearance as well.

I learned that I say Al-bany incorrectly. I'm told it's All-bany. Also, I wasn't laughed at too hard for not knowing what/where Block Island is LOL.

I got to see a 43foot searay fit through a hole big enough for a 15foot dingy. Ate entirely too much food, had some good drinks, and found my dream boat. Hopefully next trip to block island will be by boat instead of ferry.

I want to thank everybody for their hospitality. I had a great time. I especially want to thank Nick for setting everything up and helping me figure out logistics and all that. Thanks to Scott for the place to crash. And thanks to Elvis for the entertainment--especially with the microwave.

The one on the right please....LOL

Look look!

Well back home tonight another Great one! Got some pics and movies will do tomorrow.
Lots of Thanks to Nick and Bruce for all the planning Nick dinner was outstanding. The cow car tour on my birthday was a highlight I won't forget along with being on the General for sunset with Rob singing Star spangle banner.
Scott how was your trip home?
As always it was sad to leave B.I it is such a great spot so maybe the ones that missed this year may have a chance to do it next year

Great people, great weather, great food and venue and great singing!

Thanks to Bruce for his hospitality and for having Payne's Dock shoehorn us in!

Thanks to everyone for making it so much fun!

Looking forward to the next one!

A heartfelt thank you to my neighbor and friend Nick, Bruce and the rest of the Hatteras group for providing Lucy and me with a great time, great party, and way too much alcohol.

Jonelle
Hatteras' first and last downeaster.

Boy , was that fun or what? I love you guys! Heartfelt Thanks to Nick, Bruce, Dan, Cathy and Christie (behind every man there is a better woman!) and Payne’s was the perfect playground. E-dock - you guys are the Soul of these gatherings. Outside of the fender board getting hung up on departure, we made it back smooth and breezy in record time - 6 1/2 hours. Had 3+ knots of current with us thru The Race for about 2 hours, making 20 knots over land. Beautiful ride home – calm seas most of the way, taking ‘em on the nose where it built up a little in western sound. Thought about you guys more then I wanted to at work last week knowing you were all on extended cruises. Hope your batteries are recharged and good to go. Here is the video Kelly took of Rob singing the Star Spangled Banner on The General for the sunset flag lowering ceremony: http://youtu.be/1P7CN4PlFtI . OK, enough of that, now back to work!

O.K here the End of Kelly s video he miss them shooting off the Big Gun

Just click on the picture.
