I was told that you can fish, but cannot keep what you catch, so I thought we would see if we could "tag an release a cobia or wahoo. We loaded up and headed out Pensacola pass; however, it was rough enough that we managed to loose a varnished teak arm chair off the aft deck. We turned around went back inside and ultimately dropped anchor in that cut inside and just west of the pass.
Absolutely perfect. One other boat there. Use a pool float to ferry the dog and some rum punch to the island. We enjoyed the sun and the sand until for some reason I was compelled to swim over to the boat and scrape barnacles. The water was clear and continues to be oil free, best I can see.
It is really not that all that much better than Horn Island, but for some reason things seem better when you travel (and spend money) to get and stay there. Just doing my part to promote the FL panhandle tourism.
Regards,
