If they're identical twins, do they count as one?

Hey Carl,

If Randy doesn't get the pervert table you have for sale, where do I send my $20 bucks?

So much for my original question> Oh well!
Just wanted to see how much a little piece of paper, with some #'s on them could change your life, and your dreams. I can never win that lottery dream, cause I don't play. I guess I'll continue working the six days and resting on the seventh. But it's still fun to dream........

Well, Gunsmoke, I guess all those happy thoughts about dream vessels just overflowed!

Back to your point, someone mentioned a Hatteras megayacht. I saw a 118' at the Lauderdale boat show last year. Pretty impressive. I had no idea Hatt made anything even close to that size. Nice lines, nice layout and all the usual requisite fancy appointments inside. What was amazing to me, given the price of so much stuff today, was the fact that this thing was listed for only (!) :D around $1.5MM. Considering you couldn't buy a new 60' convertible for that today, I was amazed. I think the boat was mid-90's vintage, and still looked quite fresh. Maybe one of our broker friends here could comment on that. Boat for boat, that price sounded like a steal; still high enough that it would be in the dream category for most, but reachable for some, no doubt. Guess the depreciation curve is steep on megas.

Next time I'm in little Havana I'll meet you and Rascal at Eliott Key and have our self a baba-que. I heard the columbus day party is a smash???

Hey Carl,

I missed this one last night (can't imagine why). Columbus Day is my birthday! PM me details on that rendevouz, would ya'? That would be a good opportunity to try out my PTO powered freshwater washdown on Rascal! :D

Hum, last time I mentioned that, I got bleeped. Couldn't figure that one out, Rascal knew I was just kidding about aiming to sink his 53 with my high powered squirt gun, or was I? :D Come on guys, I'm playing nice! Pascal has got to have experience at running away from a fight! :p

Hey Paul,

One man's dream is another man's reality. I certainly cannot afford the 118', so I'm glad you're stepping up to the plate and making my dream of owning a megayacht come true! You going to be my deckhand? I love drivin', but I hate scrubbin'! :D

If I won the NY lottery - 81 ft Burger: here's one: http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/displayPhoto.jsp?boat_id=1575297&boatname=81%27+Burger+&photo_revised_date=1154712286000&photo_name=Photo+1&photo=1&url=

If I won Powerball, - a bit bigger Burger - here's one: http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/displayPhoto.jsp?boat_id=1062328&boatname=92%27+Burger+Raised+Pilothouse&photo_revised_date=1042844201000&photo_name=null&photo=1&url=

Note, by posting the pics does not mean I like the interior colors acoutrements of these two particular boats. But there would be enough money to fix that in either case!

angela,

so we have 6 weeks to get you to realize taht you can handle the boat alone ? when do we start?

you know, i was looking the other night, the pilings are not that tight and the little searay next to you on port side is small for it's slip leaving a lot of room before you could even get close.

Columbus Day isn't as wild as it used to be thanks to heavy law enforcement presence... but obvioulsuy if you can get hit by a blowboat in your own slip, who knows what can happen to you out there...

now, I'm sure that if you ask, they'll be a line of hatteras owners willing to fly down for the week end to help you out !

Pascal, I've never taken in the Columbus Day Regatta, but from many friends with firsthand experience, it sounds like the smart plan is to anchor up well away from the fray and take your rubber boat in close amongst the crowds and, ahem, adult diversions. ;)

Either that, or you get there way early and then rig tires all around your boat tugboat style!

actually, not necessarily... if you are anchored further away, you could be rammed by some drunk gonig flat out in the middle of the night... if' you're close to the main group, everybody has to go real slow...

when you get there early, like fri night or early sat. it's hard to know where the "hot" spots will be...

btw, it gets so crowded that it's easy to get lost and having a hard time returning to your boat... i put out a flag on my tallest antenna to find the boat...

i went to eliott recently and found improve cell coverage... so my webcam shoudl work there this year... :-)

Good point. I'll take it from you, since you've had the firsthand experience. I didn't realize the thing ran all weekend. Cool! Any way you slice it, it looks like a party.

Hey Rascal & Paul,

I'll have a Hatt in the ring for this wing-ding in October. PM me and I'll tell you guys what I want for my birthday.

Meanwhile, Rascal, have your rain coat close at hand bubba! :D

Paul, FREEBIRD is comin' to town, better hide before it's too late! :p

I agree on the Burger, what a Yacht, What an Engine Room.

Randy,

I am in on the columbus day regatta.

Looks like I'm in, too. Barring some kid's sport tournament or some such, of course!

Sounds like we've got ourselves a Hatteras rendevous in the making. Should this be a new thread to see who's in?

I wonder if either of those Burger yachts were designed by Jack Hargrave. They are certainly pretty enough to have come from his drawing board...anyone know? the listings don't say.

Jim,

It's no coincidence that a lot of Burger Yachts have the fine lines that Classic Hatteras owners admire.... Jack Hargrave did in fact design a great many of them.
