Randy,

I am headed to Lauderdale tomorow... :D

You want to mee tme there?

Hey Pat,

I'll be down at the marina on Friday before Labor day. Me and Gooz are going to meet up around Cabbage Key, one engine or two. Wanna go?

PM me about the 70 (I'm serious, have cash, will travel). Just for the sake of anybody else who might want to know, what are the specifics on the disclaimer NOT FOR SALE OR CHARTER TO US RESIDENTS IN US WATERS.

Randy, Surely a broker can explain better that I, but it just means that the boat is registered outside of the US (owner avoiding paying taxes) and you will have to take delivery in the Bahamas, that's all. Quite common on larger (read: more expensive) vessels. GO FOR IT!

Hey Byron,

That will get me that trip to the Bahamas I've been wanting and save some fuel to boot as I'll only have to pay for a one way trip back to Palmetto on Big Bird. I'll call that broker tomorrow and see if the owner would consider a 6 for 1 trade plus some $$$$. ;)

You got a PM.

You know, I should not even be supprised you are interested in another boat. Does 3 Hatteras make a fleet? :D

Hell yeah,

Maybe I would just leave BIGBIRD in the islands, FREEBIRD in Palmetto, and Nancy Cay (gotta change that name) in Tennessee. Would that be Hatterases of Hatteri?

All I'll need then is a plane! Too bad I don't know how to fly.

Hey Chris aka Boss Lady,

You seeing this? Will you fly me around if I take you boat ridin'?

Randy,

One of my friends can fly us around... he is a flyboy and would probably do it for free if somone has a plane. Got a spare million lying around to drop on a plane, I am sure I can figure out how to buy one of those too!

One bad habit is plenty. My mother-in-law actually bought me flying lessons for my birthday a while back. I told her as much as I appreciated it, she should cancel and get her money back. I had seriously talked about learning to fly and getting a plane when I had a second office in FL back in the early 90's. Could have written it off I guess.

I don't miss too many meals, but my pockets are not deep enough to have a plane and boats too. However, a seaplane may be the answer. Ever see one of those with a flybridge? :D

How are we going to save/high light all the good threds for traveler 45c???

I'm thinking along the same lines as Mario. I'd keep my 58MY, but I'd add a cockpit to her, drop in a pair of Cummins and Twin Discs, and then spend the rest on fuel. And I'd do a more extensive interior refit than I currently have planned for the time being. Ed and I have already started taking about the Cummins for her, but that's out there on the horizon yet. Never hurts to start thinking about it and researching the repower in order to make a good, informed decision later. And I'd hire a captain since I suck at backing this beast into my tiny, narrow slip that has no finger piers and where the boats next to me are mere inches away (it's like one big raft up here)! But, then, if I had that kind of cash I wouldn't be in a slip, now would I? :)

On second thought...how about that Hatteras LRC - that might be more appropriate.

Next time I'm in little Havana I'll meet you and Rascal at Eliott Key and have our self a baba-que. I heard the columbus day party is a smash???

I believe it was 1992 that Hatteras built a 92' MY (First Mega-Hatt?). I saw it shortly afterwards and also noticed it for sale a few years ago. I think it is a fine example of what Hatteras is capable of building. If money was not an object I would have SeaEric track it down for me along with dockage in Fla, NJ and Bahamas to start. Oh by the way, I will also need a good crew (including the Ukranian women mentioned earlier). Since it will be mine, I get to drive......

The early model 70 MY completely redone by Slane would be pretty good also, but as money is no object, I'd probably just buy a new Hatteras 80 or so.

Oh well as the saying goes... A dollar and a dream

I have the plane, but you gotta by the gas! The GIIB burns 4000lbs the first hour to get to 41,000 feet. but cruises at 0.92 Mach. We can bring 12 of our friends along, but no big game hunting allowed. I had to cut back on the using the Gulfstream, so I am flying the King Air to Panama City next week, 1/4 of the fuel burn.

I'm hoping to do the Columbus Day thing on Elliott Key if Ed or someone can come down and help me handle the boat. What about you, Pascal? Or is that place, that weekend, just asking to be whacked by another sailboat again?

I think with so many of us down south we should make it a reondevouse ?sp?
too much (mt gay). and I'm working on my private pilot so if I can log some hours with chris that will be great :D I would love to have a king Air in the next 5-10 years...

Carl, Sounds good. Lets have a rondevu, where are we going? Appearantly it needs to be somewhere that Randy and I can drive to since both of our Hatteras' dont run right. Funny that they sit right next to each other and aint worth a crap right now. Hopeully 2 more weeks.

Yhea I know I was tryin to spell it like hoursdivours??? but me and Freebird are talkin about meeting in Boca Grand for labor day it's right close to you??

You can have a King Air now Carl, I have plenty of pilots and instructors, and when you are not using it it can be on charter paying for itself.

Chris,

No big game huntin'? That's no good. Can we still throw empty beer bottles at the signs on the airstrip when we're taking off? :D

The no big game huntin applies to the two legged type, four legged big game are still ok. Just like fishing we have a slot size.
