  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' TRIPLE CABIN (1970 - 1976)
Just read where two more HOF'ers discovered they own sequentially numbered hulls.

With that in mind, I thought it would be interesting to see how many others have found their sisterships on here. I've found them for both my Hatts as per the link above. Anybody else find themselves a digit apart from another HOF'er?

Mine is a 43 dcmy hull number HATAE 3740673 Bill

i have not found the one above mine or below mine. 58yf352, 1972 58yachtfisherman. bigbill

HATAX 3341079 here.
I've seen a couple of other 334's out there, which made me wonder: Do they use the same number for different styles/years?

That's a good question. I assume the numbers aren't repeated based on a particular model and/or date of manufacture. Seems I remember there being two different numbers used by Hatt as to production numbers of different models, so I doubt you have the 334th hull of your particular model. Prior to '72, the production number and hull number were the same. Here's some info from Sam's site on this subject...

We have a 1969 53' MY. HATMY302 - My understand she was # 2 off the blocks in High point when Hatteras started the 1510 series.

As best I remember, yours is 334 and mine is 335. I don't have anything here at home that has the HIN.

334 sounds better... too many paint fumes the last couple of days!! ws

bigbill we have #353. 53 my. liveaboard on the potomic in md

boatwright, i think the yachtfisherman and the motoryacht run different hull numbers. mine 58 is for 58 feet long, yf is for yachtfish, and 352 is the hull order number. is your boat a 1972 model? yours is probably 53my353. nobody knows exactly how hatteras hull numbers run. bigbill

I thought there were duplicate numbers out there. Now I wonder how many 334's there really are??

I've got HATAD441 for a 1975 42C.

our '72 58 YF is #339

OK, looked mine up here in the office, and the HIN is HATAP335XXXX. As I mentioned earlier, I believe there are two different numbers associated with Hatteras yachts. One is the HIN which is found on the transom, the other is a production number on a tag that is found in the ER, at least it is on mine.

That's actually how Willie and I found out we had sequential HIN's as he was asking me if I had such a plate in my ER with the production number. I put him on hold and went to check. With that said, I don't remember if that tag reads 335 or not. Maybe the two letter code following HAT is a model designation. That would explain why there would be more than one 334, for example, in a HIN.

Our '72 (I think, but some have said it is '73) MY is 53MY382. Anyone near that number?

1972 36C. I'm almost positive my engine room number is 436 or 438. I'll double check the next time I'm on my boat.

HATTA5600277, 1977 36C. If i understand the numbering system, # 560 in the series1 36C, but not sure where the count started and if all 36's are/are not included. Anyone near this number?

Regards, Bob K

You guys with the new modern yachts make things just too complicated. My 1965 50' MY is #8....that's it....just 8.

Happy early Thanksgiving everyone!!

Capt K

in late 1972 all boat mfg. companies had to put the hull number on the upper right corner of the transom, the first few characters indicate the builder....hat....... indicates hatteras, the rest is model and hull number before that the serial number was somewhere????? (who knows where)in the boat on a tag. my older runabouts had a plastic plate with the serial number, my 72 hatt has a tag in the e.r. bigbill
