Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
1979 43DC, DD6-71N's, Glendenning Synchronizer. With the synchro OFF the port engine throttle lever is almost impossible to move. With the synchro ON the throttle lever moves easily. FYI, the port engine is the slave, so when synchro is ON the lever moves all the way to full throttle with ease.
So my questions is: does the Glendenning synchronizer have lubrication points or is there another answer? Also, this problem has been getting worse over the past few years and is worse in cold weather. Cables were replaced about 12 years ago.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Reply here or to my email: eze2bme@aol.com.
Thxs.

It could be the booster spring on the throttle is not tight enough. If you disconnect the cable in the bilge can you move the throttle? While the cable is disconnected does the helm control move easily?

I have the same issue. Mine is a little different I think. My Strb side cable runs through sync, so when I disengage the sync, the strb cable sticks in place and I cant pull it back. I can however tap the cable at the sync box and it will release. Its still kinda tight. I sprayed oil on the cable and it seems to loosen it up some. Its still kinda dirty at the point it goes through the box. I havent yet got a chance to clean it up real good. The more I use it the better it works. Other wise it moves freely, its just the part when it goes through the box. If you look at the cable as it goes through the box and exits the other side you can see it. It might just need cleaning. Fingers crossed. Keep me posted. Im going to the boat this week and I'll take a picture.
