Sorry guys, I kept trying to edit the last post but it duplicated it and still wont fix the problems I was having. I had everyones name seperated from the names of the boats. ppat

That is correct. This is turning out to be quite a party. I am really happy that the Illinios side will have a good showing.
Sky and Mark...I know that there are others Hatt's in your marina. See if they would like to join us and the forum. ppat

Try these guys in Saugatuck, they are not right downtown, but still in the harbor and a lot of people dingy into town. It's a nice place with many amenities and room for a get together. http://www.towermarine.com/index.htm
They do own one of the small marinas in the downtown area next to Coral Gables also and might have slips available there also, but It gets pretty crowded.

I finally looked at the site. It looks pretty interesting. Is $1.80 per foot reasonable? Thats over $100 per night for us. And they only offer 30 amps. Dont know anything about this. This will be my first trip across the lake. It is on the table for consideration. ppat

If you go to Saugatuck, Tower is not the place to go. You'll want to be downtown, not across the lake. Singapore YC is the place. It costs even more than Tower, however. No offense to those pushing for Saugatuck, but it seems that some of them are not even Hatteras owners. I think the ones with the boats that are really going to attend should decide.

Here is the link to the GH site.

$71/night for a 65ft slip with dual 50amp service and new wide finger piers.

I will talk to BaldEagle. He's not on the site too much, but I'll bet he'll go. He has the 53ED. There is also a 40MY, a 60MY, and a 52CMY at our marina. None of them are HOF members (yet), but Mark and I will work on them after the plans are set.

If I were voting I would say Grand Haven. I would not recommend staying on the municipal 'wall' however, the channel waves will drive you crazy.

You haven't been there with the Hatteras, have you? Your boat weighs over 100,000 pounds. The wakes aren't that bad on the wall. I was there last year in a slip and my friend's 58 Bertram MY was on the wall. We sat on his bow and hardly even noticed the boat move.

You're correct Sky, last time I was in GH was with my 44'Trojan many years ago. I always stay at Grand Isle marina up river at the bridge.

That place has really gone downhill. They have depth and maintenance problems. My friends went there last year with their 60MY and told me that they'd never go back. No one would help them dock. The staff hassled them and wouldn't give them keys to restrooms or the front gate.

We also have a guy with a 65MY that just bought a slip at our marina. He's moving out of Grand Isle for similar reasons.

Grand Haven Municipal looks good to us! I like the dog run and pool and picnic tables and the price. ppat

Ppat, I don't think you need to count my vote as I don't have a dog in the fight but I would love to see all the Hatt's in my harbor and have some beers with the owners.

Soem of the positives of Saugatuck. One of the top beaches in the country. Good restaurants and bars, several including the Butler deck and Mermaids are on the water. Small town atmosphere and friendly people!

Sky, as I said, my vote shouldn't count. Just trying to give Ppat some help in setting this up.

tower also owns yatch services which is their marina on the Saugutick side but I would think Singapore or Seargent is the place most would want to stay.

We kept our boat at what is now Tower Yacht Services from 1974-76. It's a nice place, but not in the heart of the action.

Just noticed this thread and I would certainly be interested in attending, assuming of course the locks are not closed, my engine is fixed and I don't get lost on the way up from Clearwater. The only concern I have, and its probably my problem at this point, but the Air and
water show is on in Chicago that weekend. Of course that might open up slips on the east side of the lake. So I guess I am on the fence, but seriously considering.

You have a boat in Clearwater? :D

Randy:
I heard a rumor that there is a boat floating (I hope) around somewhere down there with my name on it. Or a name similiar to someone else you know on this site. Now that I think of it, that might be a reason to go to the air show.

Yeah, I think I saw a Hatt around Clearwater with "Foley" on the stern. Are you a urologist? :D

I share some of the same traits, but not the wallet or credit rating. Did someone change the name on the back?

You go girl! You could be another Weird Pat Yankovich. I'd love to hear "Smoke On The Water" on your accordion. Check this out for some inspiration.
