They do own one of the small marinas in the downtown area next to Coral Gables also and might have slips available there also, but It gets pretty crowded.

The new slips at Grand Haven municipal are 70x22 so if you reserve a slip, you won't have to be on the wall. I'll go either place, but I just thought GH might be easier to plan since we can reserve those slips 6 months ahead of time.

I have been to both ports many times, so you and Bill can decide where to go. I like both places.
 
Well, it appears we have narrowed it down to either Saugatuck or Grand Haven. Both have pros and cons so I will start looking into availability, prices and such. When I get that info we can make a final decision. Agreed?
Thanks for all the input...without it I'd of never gotten this far into the planning. We also need to start thinking menus and entertainment.

Maybe this is not the place for the guys who went to CDR without any females to show up together. (Not that there's anything wrong with that -- Jerry Seinfeld)
 
I guess that nothing can be done about this, but it is sad that all the boats in Lake Huron, Detroit, and Lake Erie probably won't go this far for a get together. Our lakes are seperated by a welfare state that used to build cars. :(

i live in Saugtatuck. Not a currnet hatt owner but love the boats and enjoy the forum. singapore yatch club, seargent marina, tower, yatch services, coral gables are the marinas plus some private slips. ( I think Gables or Mermaid also has available the DeVoss family slips for rent. 100 foot plus) if you get the dates set I am sure that all the boats will be accomadated. I know all the marina masters and I know singapore has reciprical with many other clubs. If you need a contact here let me know.

Just heard from Eric Smoothmove and he's interested in Grand haven or the gay capital of Michigan LOL. I think we should probaly do grand Haven....less talk that way. Even though this is getting interesting. ppat

I didn't mean to get you off of the Saugatuck idea. It's a fun place with good restaurants and a very nautical feel. I was just elaborating on the "Coming out Party" thread title. :)

Since you have it narrowed down to two places, maybe you'd want to take an informal poll and see how much interest there is in each destination.

I am not the only one to make this descision. We should All work together to decide...and I know that you guys are just joking. saugatuck does sound like a fun town. it sounds like we may be able to get everything we need there. Its still in the running. ppat
