ppat, make some blocks of ice for your food chest. it lasts longer. and it is easier to stack food on square ice compared to cube or crushed ice. i make mine in the trays that come with igloo ice chests, or the correct size tupperware dishes. bigbill
p.s. ya'll have some fun, you and yb have been working so hard on the hatt trick that ya'll deserve a good break with fellow hatt owners.

Thanks, BigBill...we are determined to take a break after this trip. I just hope we arent too tired to enjoy!! LOL I could sleep for a week now!

I called GH marina...they are BOOKED SOLID!!! If you didnt make reservations you will be on the wall. They have 30 and 50 Amp so good to go there. The grills are charcoal so we will bring a bag with and lighter fluid..
I need to call back later to talk with a guy to try and get us all together...ppat

Forecast is looking great. Gale warnings today, but the long-term open lakes forecast for Friday is east winds 5-10kts and waves 1-2ft. It doesn't get much better than that!

So as not to be left in the lurches, if we get to GH Friday evening and we end up "on the wall" is that the city wall? If its the municipal marina is there water and electric there?? If we run easy Friday and only make, say St Joe, wheres a good place to stay overnite before running the rest of the way and arriving Saturday morning? I do not want to deal with fixed bridges either, with a 23 foot air draft! ws

We are still planning on being there, reservations made and paid for.

Greetings....i realize that a mistake may of been made but I want to check....I just called GH again and was given a list of the yachts they have that are to attend and Knot roxsea was not on the list. Could just be a oversite....
grand Haven has scheduled us all together!!! We are going to have a great time!!! ppat

Bill,
South Haven is a good place to go. Or, if you get an early start, you are welcome to chart a course straight to White Lake and then cruise south the last 20 miles with us on Saturday morning.

Notice to anyone crossing the lake. There were logs floating all over from Manistee to south of Ludington last week. Who knows where they are now. Be on the lookout.

MC Chris and Akin are supposed to come also but I think Willy and I will probably be crossing alone......ppat

WE had to cancell our resv, too many things going on to make it this year.
Will be retired next year, and HOPFULLY will be free if there is another get together next summer. Would have liked to be there and see everyone.
If anyone is up Stugeon Bay way look us up at Quarter deck.

Well, our crew gave us last minute regrets. After talking it over we will be coming via car. Were are you guys driving staying? ppat and ws

Bill, you MUST be joking! After all this talk and hype for all this time, you even started your own site over the fallout from this "Coming out party" and now you are going to drive because extra crew aren't coming and less than perfect weather? C'mon now. That's not the YachtsmanBill that I know. You've got a big heavy seaworthy Hatteras. You are going to disappear someday and head south on that boat and you will only have your Admiral with you, so what gives for this event which is YOUR rendezvous?

You can run that boat by yourself if you want to and you have Pat to grab lines and/or fenders. What more do you need? The fuel is even polished! We are all rooting for you! It won't be the Coming out party OR GLR without the Hatt Trick present!!!! GO HATT TRICK!!!!!!

Bill Whats UP, I was hoping to stay on your boat.:D You don't need no dang crew. PPat knows how to handle your lines. She is good. I plan on arriving around 9:00 am. Sat. Come on man you need a break. I want to see your boat and how it has changed from last year. The admiral wants to see it also. I'm bring my two burner gas grill to cook on. You can cook with us ether way Bill.

First off....I would like to THANK everyone for the show of support.
Byron, the fall out was over members being banned..not the GLR.
Bill and I have valid reasons not to take her out alone. I have never been on a yacht before I met Bill. I have never been on the lake on the "SUB". We both feel uncomfortable without some one who can handle her while Bill is taking care of any problems.
We have worked diligently for the past 9 months for this trip! We have not cancelled the trip on a whim. Believe it or not we are still cleaning her up right now just in case something happens and we can take her. This is breaking my heart to not take her and show off ALL the love , sweat and work that have gone into her. If things work out we still might make it with the boat but one way or the other we will be there!!!

Whatever the fallout was about, I don't remember specifically. I guess it was just right around the creation of this event that it happened but at least you guys are back posting here regularly.

If you are not comfortable on the boat then no problem, just do what you have to do to get comfortable in your own time. It's all good, I was just trying to give a friendly push to my friend Bill just in case that is all he needed. I certainly meant no harm and I would not want you to feel uncomnfortable in any way.

I, too, am sad that the Hatt Trick will not be there. I and so many here have been following this refit along for over 4 years now and was just excited for the official "Coming Out."

You guys have fun this weekend and we will all be following along as usual to read about the happenings and see the pics.

Thanks, Byron....we really did want to show her off! You would NOT recognize her now....she is standing tall and proud! If Bill said go we'd have gone but without some one to help him it is just unrealistic. We worked TOO hard and I didnt get time to learn to run her at all.....ppat

Bill says my first lesson will be this Sunday! We are going to Grand Haven on Saturday via car....Gator has Sunday off so we are all going out to the lake for the day on the HATT TRICK! Even the grandkids get to come!!!
It really does hurt not to be taking the Hatt. we spent ALOT of money this week alone to get her ready! I bought new towels, kitchen utensils, dish drainer, all kinds of stuff! Her freezer is full and I was even making blocks of ice.......ppat

I don't blame you guys for staying put. There is a very unsettled weather pattern over the lakes for the next few days. Winds will be switching from every direction throughout the period. Even Sunday's forecast is for North winds at 20kts and waves 3-6ft. But hey, that's boating. You have to think of safety first and although you could probably make the trip without incident, I agree that it's not the smartest maiden voyage with limited crew and less than ideal lake conditions.

See you there (and bring pictures).
