When I was at the Miami show I went aboard a new 41' Bertram. Much to my surprise it had windshields. The interior was beautiful and bright. I asked how much extra to have windshields. The salesman laughed and told me that they were standard and that a glassed in windshield area was an extra cost option. They even offer an optional inside helm package for $45,000; ouch. Rivieras also have windshields. Most still don't have any opening windows, so you are stuck in an artificial climate when aboard. I thought people bought boats to get fresh air. We love our windshields, inside helm, and sliding windows.
At least windshields are back on sport fish boats. It looks like we may be returning to classic ideas.
