Hey Bugsy FWIW I completely agree with Sky. If you think he was "elected" maybe you should move there!

LMAO

DC

Hey, Cam. I DO live there (sometimes). I'm employed by a US multi-national. Guess what? Do you know how many other gun-toting "true-blue; liberty loving Americans" also rely upon Venezuela (or Libya for eg) for their livelihood?

Give your head a shake! You have NO idea what goes on out here in the "real world".

Sorry..not trying to be a dink (it comes easy)--but seriously--if the US restricted all trade relationships to countries that had shared values, where do you think we'd be? Do you have any idea how much the US depends upon trade with China?

And Sky--do you think trade with China is somehow quantitatively better than trade with Venezuela?

This whole subject is far more involved than the intelligence level of those of us engaged in the "exchange" can tolerate.

Good night---and God bless!

Bugsy,
If our government would not have formed the EPA and other restrictive laws that effectively stopped industry in this country, we would not need trade with China or any of these other nations that have socialist governments. Our country has plenty of natural resources. The problem is that we are not not allowed to use them. We have oil offshore that we can't get. We have timber that we can't cut. We have copper and gold and iron ore and coal, but the libs have effectively shut down all of our production of these resources. This is a great country that was built on industrial innovation and the use of our own domestic resources. It's just too bad that some little rat or lizard or flea is more important than progress.

Lets cut the regulations and let business commence. You can't imagine how great this nation could be if government would just get out of the way and let industry prosper. It's just too bad that people like you have turned this once powerful industrial nation into what is now just a bunch of lawyers, politicians, academics, and environmentalists. I liked it better when it consisted of real working people like farmers, miners, auto workers, shipwrights, and steel workers. But, I fear that our best days are behind us now. It's sad.

Well said! that was what made us a wealthy, strong super power. Now we are a bunch of middlemen who produce nothing. And thanks to the bleeding hearts we can't produce anything.

I don't like Chavez and I don't like China either (there's a CF 2 for ya, you can guess what the F stands for), but this thread has got way out of line, indulging the fantasies and bogeymen of both sides of the political spectrum. Doesn't belong here in Tech Talk, IMO doesn't belong in Everything Else either, which has gotten way off mission as well.

FWIW, while at NAPA today, I came across 40wt CF-2 NAPA oil in stock (6-5 gallon pails). I inquired about it, and it was there for a customer to be picked up Friday. I was told it's in stock at the warehouse and can be here in a day, whatever quantity I need...at $47 a pail.

Yes that is the NAPA 75118 discussed here over the years, refined by Ashland/Valvoline. I have used it a lot and have been happy with the results, oil analysis-wise.
