I hate it how pictures get turned when uploading.

See if this works.

Do you have any details on the vessel?

Excellent - how’d you do that? No, other than it’s at Joe Wheeler State Park Marina in Rogersville, AL. My 58’ MY Dionysus is on the same dock, from what I can tell it’s 1975 58’ Yachtfish the bank has repossessed. The auction sign went up just this week. Call the number or go to the website for more info. I have not seen it leave its slip in the past year. Appears to be clean from the exterior at the dock, but I have not looked too hard.

Re: Auction 58’ Yachtfish - Bank Repossed

I saved it, and rotated it, then re-uploaded.

I emailed the bank. They said the listing will be going live in the next couple days. Should have more details then.

Re: Auction 58’ Yachtfish - Bank Repossed

Here’s what I’ve learned - told engines run, minimum bid $50K - from there the highest bid wins. Told engines have less than 2,100 hours. I’m not affiliated with this in any way, so please if you’re interested get your info directly.

Right now there is no link, but evidently there is supposed to be more information with a few days.

Re: Auction 58’ Yachtfish - Bank Repossed

The owner is/was a member here. There's a back story of her past that I won't go into.

Re: Auction 58’ Yachtfish - Bank Repossed

It does . Was this model popular and successful for Hatteras ?

Re: Auction 58’ Yachtfish - Bank Repossed

Yes, it was. Video looks better than I expected. Anyone know if it runs, anything about the engines and genset(s)?

Listing says they run. ~2100 hours on them.
Also states: "flybridge eaves are soft"

There is a survey from 2019 attached to the listing docs.
OP says he hasn't seen it leave the dock in a year.

I’m at the dock. Exterior shots from video appear to be correct. I’d definitely recommend having a knowledgeable person scour this boat before making any bids - you probably have enough time to have oil samples run before the bidding closes. Also good to note the survey they’re sharing didn’t include a haul out, so no telling what the bottom looks like. However appears to have been sitting in fresh water for many years so that’s a plus. Also concerning that the sea trial was incomplete, I wouldn’t even consider it a sea trial. That’s very concerning, without taking this girl out and running her at various rpm’s and inspecting at wot while underway, I’d have to assume as a buyer that there’s a lot of maintenance that’s needs to be addressed. Could be an excellent opportunity, but I’d definitely budget 2 to 3x what you pay for it to address the unknowns. Just having a thorough bottom job done right will cost you 20k. You may not need it, but then again better to be happily surprised then in financial distress.

Yes, indeed. If it's a repo there will be deferred maintenance. But it does look good in the photos, so maybe it's worth taking on if a new owner can get it cheaply enough.

Re: Auction 58’ Yachtfish - Bank Repossed

Further research suggests that the person that I thought was the owner may have sold it some years ago.
