They are lovely boats- very graceful and roomy design, for a 15-10 beam. Only thing prettier is the 70 that they made at that time.
This is a serious project, no question. I think it is priced way too high. Two 53 MYs that I know of sold for half this, and at least one of them is now a showpiece with hundreds of hours of sweat equity in it- a running, handsome boat which is a credit to the owner's persistence. (wink, wink) That boat was just partly taken apart, not partly gutted like this boat. This boat with 12-71s is a good starting point, but not at 47K. More like 20K. I have no idea what the quality of work done so far is, but I'd be very careful in looking through it all.
