As much as I can tell, I have Jabsco 7420-1001 raw water pumps on the boat. 6-71 naturals.
Going to change out the impeller, one of the bronze screws had been replaced with a steel bolt, which of course broke.
So, I pulled the pump out and when I removed the impeller I noticed there was a seal out of place just behind the impeller.
Looking over the exploded parts diagram, it looks like I am looking for a "slinger", which looks like a thin metal retaining ring type of thing, and then a flat rubber seal.

Items 11 and 12 on here.
Anyhow, what I notice on that list is that is says the slinger is for 6400 series pumps only.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Is there more that should be done with the pump while it is out besides replacing these things, or is there a kit that would contain these parts as well, etc?
Thanks!
