She sank in Texas during Ike

I sent him a question or two about exactly that, through eBay. We'll see what he or she says.

I believe she toured the bottom. A friend has far more knowledge about her but he's on vacation for a few weeks.

I was pretty sure that was the boat. Figured someone on here would know.

Honest Broker.

You mean he is not being straight forward when he said.
"She was in Texas out of the water to have a paint job, a storm came(Ike) and she was pushed on her side. There was not structural damage to the hull/superstructre, just cosmetic."

Shocking
:p

She's at the end of the dock where I do quite a bit of work. I can do a fly by if someone is seriously interested but I can't just go there and out them for dishonesty. I spend a lot of time at that marina.

You guys notice this on this ad?

Q: Hi what size engine and name. why this boat is cheap. maybe this boat have problems let me know
A: Hello, It has MTU M93 2000's that were professionally rebuilt. The Yacht is used and enjoyed, the coast guard document is clean, the vessel is free and clear. No major problems, she is ready to be enjoyed.

Broker listed it as a private seller too.

Good thing those engines were "professionally" rebuilt. Why were they rebuilt at all?

There was a big sport fish in the paint building at Galveston Yacht Basin when Ike hit. I was not there but have seen pictures. The paint building was big and solidly built. It came down trapping the boat that was being painted. I am pretty sure that is was on its side. You might call someone in Galveston to verify this was the boat because a couple of large boats sank at the end of D dock.

Several other boats (mostly BOAT/US insurees) had been pulled and blocked in anticipation of the storm. Since they were not tied down they floated around loose for several hours knocking into other boats, buildings and what have you. Several floated across the boat yard to join the raging fire going on at the dry storage building.

If this 70 C was indeed the one in the paint shed the story is true.

So she sank on land?

It's not much of a difference to me.

Yep, doesn't make much difference if the boat goes under the water or the water goes over the boat.

Would be to me as indicative that the wiring wasn't trashed. But why this would have caused a required engine overhaul is odd....as in missing details here.

Salt water is death to engines and wiring. If she was filled with salt water as I suspect she was it had to be a huge mess.

If I remember correctly she sat for a while after she was damaged. I do remember the engines needing major work. Not sure if they were done before she got to Fl

So she filled with water after tipping? That's a different story..........

i emailed the lister on eBay and asked about the boat. I then emailed him back and asked point blank if this was the boat that had sunk. No answer as of yet.

I also note that there is wording in the ad pushing a sale soon, or the price goes up, etc. This whole thing stinks as far as I am concerned. A sketchy history and pushing a quick sale in the bargain. No thank you. A good way to get your pocket picked and a huge hole in the water to show for it.
