  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
67' COCKPIT MY (1987 - 1995)
I have a CPMY and I need to replace the windshield wiper assembly. The output shaft that drives the wiper arm has rusted through.I have not investigated the actual replacement project yet. I thought I would start here first to get an idea of what is involved. Has anybody replaced the wiper assembly?I think I can get access to the wiper assembly from the upper helm/salon ac area above the lower helm. Or do I need to dis-assemble the ceiling and upper instrument console of the lower helm? Any information or guidance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank youKevin

I replaced mine by going up through the bottom panel of the overhead instrument pod at the lower helm. 1987 63’ CPMY. Sam’s had all of the parts. Be prepared to be a contortionist to get to all three!

Thanks for info. Do you remember if you can get to the assembly from the top? From the area where the ac compressor is?Did you have to dis-assemble the overhead instrument pod? It looks like where the ac vents are can be removed and possibly provide access to the port and stbd wipers.

Not accessible from the bridge deck on my boat. The bottom panel of the instrument pod is removable and you can snake your way in there. Center wiper is easy. Start with that one so you understand the process before you tackle the the outer wipers

48LRC. All parts from Sams. Had to grind off the rusted nuts holding the wiper arms on the exterior. Protect your fiberglass or the tiny embers will leave rust marks. Dropped instrument pod above pilot house helm to get to the motor assemblies. My outside ones were pretty easy but still trying to get to the center unit.
