Where is the windshield washer shutoff valve? Center sprayer is drooling and wish to turn it off before digging in.

Any clues as to why it might be weeping? It's a steady drip.

On mine I had a leak at the valve that sprayes water on the windshield. I loosened the nut holding it on and it came out. It had a bad O ring that I replaced with one from Ace hardware.

I don't think there is a shut off valve, I just turned off the water.

They had two different methods of making the squirt. One was a direct push/pull knob. The later ones used a solenoid. At any rate the water that goes on the windshield comes from your fresh water tank just like the galley faucet. If you want to work on the system just turn your water pump breaker off and open a faucett until the preassure is gone. I suspect a small bypassing in the valve or solenoid. If the drip stops, then it is just emptying the tubing between the solenoid/ valve. If it is contiuous, the solenoid or valve is letting water go through when not selected. A simple fix, just bleed the preassure of, remove the hoses from the solenoid or valve, replace the unit.

The supply for my windshield washer originates from a tee on the cold water line feeding the water heater (starboard engine room, just above the water heater). If you don't have a cutoff valve there, you could disconnect and install one.

Your o-rings are going bad.

The water line is just a straight connection to the water pressure system on my 53MY. Just turn off the dock water and your water pumps and run out the pressure in the whole system.

My valve had 2 o-rings that I replaced at Ace Hardware. The top comes off the valve and the stem and o-rings can be pushed out from the bottom after removing the knob. Very simple to fix. It now turns on and off easier and doesn't drip.
