What are some ideas for attractive shades or window coverings for the port lights?

We had, courtesy of a PO, Japanese shoji screens across the aft port lights in the MSR which we really liked a lot. Got many compliments on these from other Hatt owners as well. Roman shades for those along the sides and the mid SR, also very nice. Will try to dig up some photos.

Woven roman shades in my MSR.

Nice! Keep the pics coming.

Check to see if you have the original tracks for the tabbed curtains. You can buy tabs and have drapes made, if that suits you. Mine are in several sections so they can be parted for porthole access. FYI you can also purchase new, plastic, track if your original metal track is tore up.

New metal track is available from Sailrite.

Mine are drapes like Cheryl's. Pictures in my profile.

What about coverings for the ports in the forward cabin and the heads?

Ports for the other heads also run on the track system with the tabs. Except for in my forward head there is a small rod (e.g., a tension rod).

There were small curtain rods in the forward stateroom over each port but I removed them altogether to let more light in and there's little need for privacy up there.

BTW the plastic track is much easier to install than the metal. The metal ones have these minuscule screws that have to be drilled in the channel and it's a PITA, whereas you can drill a reasonable size screw alongside the channel in the plastic at whatever intervals you like.
