this past weekend my lewmar windlass (model 5000 i think) stopped doing it's job.
it started to retrieve the anchor but then slowed and stopped. only a click at the relay box. clicked the switch to down and then back to up, and it started to retrieve again only to repeat the sequence. the anchor line was very slack so no overload going on. finally only clicking at the relay box.
voltmeter says good voltage at the box and windlass wire connections. took the plastic covers off to look for something obvious, everything seemed normal. anyone have any insight what to look at?

thanks,
jim

If your sure the battery is good it sounds like a bad connection somewhere. the voltage may read fine with no load but opens up as current flows and heats up. Check every connection closely. Sometime the connection is bad under the insulation and is not obvious.
