  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I have the Noland RS11 and a Garmin NMEA 2000 starter kit and hope to set up electronic gauges to the 4212 plotter this weekend. The NMEA power cord has 3 wires, pos neg and ground. Lilly Marie is a 43 dc with a 12v system. I plan on connecting the pos and neg to wiring under the helm gauges, but do not know what to do with the ground wire.

Suggestion appreciated.

Thanks

I re-read the Garmin download on NMEA installation and believe the ground wire simply connects to the negative wire and suppose works as a shield.

I did not do much on the RS11 install, but did make up 18ga wires and terminals and connect them to the back of the helm gauges and tachs.

Regards

So how's it working? What display or gauge are you using?
