But he said 58TC.I wrote "looks more like". That means the 58TC "looks more like" a 43DC than a 53MY. Quincy said that he was looking for a 58 that looked like a stretched 53. I wondered if he might have meant the 58 series 1 as that is more of a stretched 53ED. But as it turns out, he meant the 58TC. So now maybe we can actually address his original question as to where these boats are and why you don't see many advertised for sale.
That would be a great boat to sink a lot of money into if you wanted something truly unique. That cockpit extension really makes that boat.I think Uncle Willies might still be available
I looked at a really nice Series I not long after I bought my 58TC. Awesome boat with that awesome, full beam ER. Great layout too.I think the original 70' Hatteras is not only one of the best looking boats that Hatteras ever built, but also one of the best looking boats that ANYONE has ever built. They are just absolutely beautiful. I would like to actually see one, sometime.
No brochure..... No Wikipedia listing for Hatteras Yachts.....![]()
There used to be a very “colorful” one, compliments of the forum. It was awesome! Why no Wikipedia entry for Hatteras? That seems to be a glaring omission! If the current holders of the rights to the Hatteras name are unwilling perhaps Sam’s or even the Forum could make an entry. Even a cut and paste job from other sources would help keep the name and history alive.
