Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
The 1978 70' Hatteras MY on eBay doesn't look like any 70' Hatteras in the brochures on the site. The lines of the deck house look more like the 64' MY but the hull looks like the 70 Series I. Do you think it's a custom? Maybe Roger will know. Just curious here.

By the way ... it's back on eBay with "No Reserve" but it does now have a starting price at $165,000.

It was a factory model, the 70 Extended Deckhouse Motoryacht, built from the later 1970's then replaced by the 72 MY in the early 1980's.

In 1974 the 70 was the comittee boat for the Americas cup races in Newport. a 45c and 53c were outfitted with towing bollards as tenders for the racers. I saw the 3 of them in Cape May when they came thru. There were very few pleasure boats that big back then and the 70 was a awsome sight.

A fellow Hatt owner called on this particular 70' when it was priced lower and the owner
stated it had original engines with close to 10,000 hours.
Hope my 12V71's make it half that far :)
