What engine oils are people using.

Somewhat off topic, but I run Mobilgard SHC 1 in my Cummins B 370s, on the advice of Tony Athens at Seaboard Marine.

Not in a DD, but I use Caterpillar DEO with that nasty sulfur.

I use Mobile Delvac 1240. Summit has it in 5 gallon buckets and in 1 gallon jugs for topping off as is occasionlly necessary on my boat.

I think near the same oil that Detroit uses in there CF-2 oil (made by Mobil).

It s getting hard to get a lot of things. Went to advanced autoparts today to get a couple of pails of Rotella 15w40 for the generators.... sorry we ve been out of it for a few weeks

West marine? Nope. None in weeks.

We switched from Rotella to NAPA 40W (#75118) several years ago and have been very happy with the performance (and reduced smoking). Bought two 5-gal buckets 3 weeks ago for $72 each.
