Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I recently replaced my weatherboards and used white Boatlife caulk to seal the new weatherboards to the underside of the teak cap rails and to the toe rail. My problem is that the Boatlife has turned brown in places and has cracked in other places allowing water to wick in. Does anyone know what Hatteras used to caulk the weatherboards? I'm going to remove all the Boatlife and re-caulk but want to use the correct caulk. Thanks.

Mine were caulked with what appears to be 5200 that was then painted over with Imron. It has held up for 25 years, but the paint has started to come off of it in places and then the 5200 cracks from the UV exposure.

I would use 3M 4000 if you don't plan to paint it.
