Water hoses…. Nasty!!!
Has anyone replaced the 1 1/2” black hoses used to link the transom and midship tanks to the keel tank on early 1510s?
This stuff is nearly nasty! Its like an hard rubber (no wire reinforcement) but the inside is coated with black hook, looks like the inside of the rubber is breaking down with age. Glad I never drink water from the tanks but to think I ve been brushing my teeth with that water for 20+ years? Yes I have filters but still. The keel tank interior is very clean so that crap comes from the hose itself.
The 61 usg keel tank has been leaking and I finally decided to tackle the problem. I m not going to tear down the floor and the bed assembly so I m just bypassing it by linking the transom and midship tank together and tee in the pump pick up. I wasn’t going to replace the entire hose but considering what I found, I have to.
I ll still have 210 USG of water between the other two and if needed I can easily add a pair of 36 USG poly tanks u set the bed.
