I told you the reporting is bad! I was repeating what was reported in the story.

Those ICW reefs will get you every time!

Apparently the Coasties are now using row boats if they cannot respond from Ponce Inlet to Flagler beach in less than 3 hours. Its about 30 miles....who writes this stuff?

Looks like the 80 year old owner lives in Palm Coast Fl. Google earth shows the boat on a happier day, tied to his dock in front of his house. She's a 1965 Hatt 41 C.

You beat me to it. I think it is the same boat.

"Mile marker 22". That s a funny one!!

Look spike they started taking on water and beach the boat in the shallows... There is nothing tricky in that stretch of water, nothin to hit, no shoaling.

Wow. Yep. That's her. I think that buyer may have over paid.

The owner is a friend of a friend.

I saw that ad a wile back. Its a shame but the ad did say she needed work.

The previous owner or the guy who apparently bought it off eBay?

You have to feel bad for the guy, even if he did just pay $4K for the boat.

The buyer. Check the FB.

So what made it go down? No hull breach I am sure. Had to be a through hull, hose, etc that no one had any idea what to do about I would guess. Sad to see a nice boat go down.

Another source reported a prop came apart and went through the hull. I would have never thought that possible on a Hatt.

Given the cores from my hull I would think no way could that happen. Just can't see a blade digging in over a 1/4 inch before dropping away or being to bent to touch the hull.

Which would leave about another 3/4" of good glass

I am thinking prop or something made the shaft slid back, hose on packing gland some sort of preventable thing with maintenance.

I think so, too. Hopefully this boat can be salvaged. It looks like one of the earlier models, maybe a very early one indeed.

Don't forget, Knit Wits sunk at one point in her life, in Panama, and was restored after all that. Of course, the first one is always worth more.

1965 41C. Not in the best shape to begin with but I hear she is up and motors flushed
