- Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
Well, it looks like it may be a little while yet before I become a hatt owner! My wife just could not get as excited as me about keeping a larger MY on the TN River. I agree with her in that it is great to have a boat 10 minutes from our house like it is now, albiet being landlocked on an inland lake. So, at least for right now, it seems the TN River will be on hold. I just signed a contract today on a boat that is a "little" different than a 1970's 58 YF...looks like we are going for a 2005 Silverton 38 Sport Bridge.
Pascal, I know how much you love full beam salons with glass near the rubrail so I am sure you are particularly excited!
At least where i boat there are no tides, etc. and no pilings to crack my glass.
I have to have it inspected, etc. but so far the price seems pretty great and it has a great layout and really not an ocean going vessel, but hey...I am going to be using it as basically a weekend home/floating condo on an inland lake to spend time with the family, raft up with friends, anchor out, swim, play with my kayak, etc. etc. It should be fun, albiet not a large MY on international waters!
I am happy with everything and really, being only 32 and Lord willing, I will have many more years and boats ahead of me. I am sure one of those will be a hatt and I still hope doing the great circle/loop is in the deck of cards! My new business is going absolutely great (better than I could have even hoped for really!) and I am having a blast with that work. If things keep up maybe instead of a 1975 58YF I'll be looking in the mid 80's model years!
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that was so helpful here on the hatt forums! You all are a great bunch of people and if nothing else I have had fun talking with some of you. You have turned me on to hatts so I may still drop in to say hi now and again and who knows...we haven't closed on this boat yet and who knows what the survey will show.
Ed- if I get this boat she is over on your lake so maybe we can still come say hi to you and check out your hatt!
Thanks again for all your all's help- hope I can still come say hi and watch Freebird's antics!!!
