Turbo

Ok, here's a tough question, possibly one of you gentlemen can help. I am looking to purchase a couple new turbos for my boat but am running into difficulty identifying what I need. I have contacted three different suppliers and have been offered three different turbos. The turbos I have now have lost there data plates. My Boat 1982 46c HP, My engines, DD8V92ti 650hp which have had a conversion by Covington who installed 9A31 injectors. Sorry but thats all I have.

Serial numbers will be a big help. A good Detroit shop will be able to look up what belongs and if there's updates

Actually I think you need to call Covington with sn’s to identify turbos

When the DDA distributors were doing the marinizations back in the day they used a lot of non standard parts which never were logged back to an engine serial number in the DD system. Hopefully Covington ( are they Western Branch now) can help you out.
Do you need the entire turbo or just the cartridges?
If you can't figure it out you're going to have to remove the whole turbo, or the cartridge and take it to a shop so they can identify what they are.
