trim tab info

I have a 1971 43 DC and not sure if the tabs are working--can't find info on fluid level or any manual. Anyone HELP???

You can probally hear the pump running and of course theres the old rest a boat hook on the tabs while someone else works the controls. Bill

What kind of tabs do you have? If Bennett, which style of hydraulic pump do you have? A tall red vertical pump on a flat plastic mount attached to a bulkhead, or a short black horizontal pump mounted on a cube shaped off-white mount sitting on a shelf (it might have a black plastic cover over the pump)?
