  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
What gives? I put my boat in the water on Friday. The first thing that happened was the wind started to blow 20/30 MPH. It had rained the day before and dock boys could not put My dock poles in. So I had to move to a temporary dock. The wind continued and all the water went out. Lucky I had the boat in one of the deep moorings so it didn't set on bottom. The water didn't return until Saturday evening. The water went down 4 ft. and the temp dropped to 29 deg. Happily the ac kept the boat nice and warm. I stayed on the boat that night just to make sure there wasn't any suprises. The next day I worked cleaning it up from its long winter rest. The motors started right up like I just turned them off. Sunday it was cold and rainy. Today I have 6 inches of snow. I was going to move the boat Sunday to My Yacht Club dock, but they were repairing my dock there and did not get it done. I sure as hell hope this is not an indication of how my summer is going to be. I hadn't planed to sell my boat, but I have a person that is interested in buying it. At the same time a friend offered me his 53 at a price I hate to turn down. This year is sure starting out strange. Now if I can just get my stimulus check for 100 thousand I'll be all set.:D I put the new props on, but the weather has been so nasty I haven't had a chance to try them out. Weather man says high fifties this weekend. I'm ready!!!!!!!!!!

It got up to 80 degrees here yesterday. Today's high was earlier this morning at around 46, and we're supposed to get snow tonight. I'm thinking Mother Nature has finally hit menopause.

Same crap here in NJ. Wonder how bad the "Hot Flashes" will be?

It's getting colder by the hour with wind gusts to 23MPH. Tonight's forecasted low is 32 and tomorrow's high is 39. Hopefully this won't be a repeat of what we got a few years ago where all the new buds and blooms get frozenated and everything dies.

We're headed to Chimney Rock, NC this Friday for Easter, but the temps are supposed to be back up in the mid 60's by then. I'm ready for some global warming.

This is a nutty cold front.

West Florida has had one of the best winters in the last 25 years. Unfortunately this is Spring Break and my chance to cruise with the whole family. It is blowing 25-30 for the next few days. Nothing like taking 5 people and two dogs from a large house to a 43 foot boat and locking them inside.

My goal today was to watch the Rays - Red Sox but some nitwit scheduled that game for Boston in April rather than indoors in St. Pete. So we're tied up playing cards, eating bad food, listenting to the wind, and telling "remember when..." stories of our adventures on Freestyile together. So far the boat doesn't sink in any of them but apparently Dad drinks a lot when we're in the Keys and Bahamas.

If you love boating, you love days like this.
