  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' TWIN CABIN (1965 - 1971)
The second Chinese Junque inverter has apparently died. The first one lasted 4 years, the second one not quite a year. I need 1000w inverter charger, pure sine wave, with automatic transfer switch. Is there anything not made in China?

MasterVolt, Victron, Magnum.
Sold and installed these brands. Zero issues.

Thanks Ralph. I'll expand my search accordingly.

Magnums are pretty good, last one I had was made in the us.

I like the Victron chargers. I think I'd look at Victron if/when I need a new inverter.

My favorite saying "made in China - work good for you one time" and I say it with an accent. ha.

Eric,

I put a Victron MultiPlus-II 2x120V 12/3000/120-50 Inverter in my 47 Commander backed by 800ah of house bank. It's perfect for a boat where you have 50A 120/240VAC shore power (or in my case a 12kw 240VAC generator) but only want to power 120VAC loads with the inverter. High speed transfer switch for seamless power transition and can boost your shore power or generator as well. Far more sophisticated than the Xantrex on my last boat.

I have had Magnums on two boats and now have a Magnum and Victron running two different circuits.

The Magnum runs AGMs and the Victron runs lithium so can't compare performance. Magnum is 10 years old and Victron is one.

I like the Victron display a little better.

So shop price and tie goes to Victron.
