Dave - I have to tell the story as you remind me so much of a History professor I had in college while at NC State. He was this short Jewish guy from Brooklyn with long hair, the antithesis of Woody Allen. He would make this crazy interjections about the South during the civil war periods. I could see everyone around me just boiling over with anger – I mean pissed. They take these things quite seriously down there – the bill board for the Ku Klux Clan about 3 miles from campus had just burnt down for last and final time after about a 10 year stint. He would tell class how crazy this and that’s were burning crosses on his lawn. Anyway, it was easy for me to laugh as an outsider (transplanted NY’s weren’t common in NC at the time), but it really wasn ‘t funny at all to those who thought of Campus the same way I thought about NYC. It’s all relative to life experience and it really needs to be respected at times because it’s easy to cross the line when your use to goofing about everything under the sun. It can be construed as arrogance even though that’s not the intention. Anyway, I fed all their ego’s when I told them I would rather be in NC any day over NY (that’s why I was there!), that usually got it passed my way :)
 
Back to the topic at hand.... I think they should have to charter Joe Cool again at their expense and get dragged through shark infested waters where the tow line is retrieved so it doesn't get stuck in the props. The captain can either just run them over or let them try to swim back to shore with their hands and feet bound.

Yes we do have the death penalty. But we also have Jury's made up of moonrocks.
 
What does due process have to do with enemy combatants? What idiot thinks they have the same rights as citizens?

Hate to derail further but......I agree with Storm kind of. If it is viable outside of the womb then it should be treated as such. If not, no baby rights/etc.
 
BTW, they retired old "Sparky" a number of years ago, lethal injection is more humane. In cases like these I think they should bring back public hangings!

I made the mistake of reading the last post in this thread and saw where you had been quoted. As much as I detest the idea of abortion, I've always been middle of the road where it is concerned. I don't think any man has a right to tell a woman what to do with her body, but I don't think any woman has the right to abort a child unless her life is in danger or she was the victim of rape.

Your analogy of a fetus compared to a cancer or parasite leaves me with very real questions about your character as well as your understanding of human life. You seem to be an Internet savvy guy, try looking up some photos of aborted children, especially late term, and tell me you see a tumor or parasite. I made the mistake of opening a link someone posted on another forum which displayed such images, and they will forever be burned into my memory.
